Summary
I think it's obvious that we were not thrilled with the Celebrity experience but I'm glad we gave them a chance since you just don't know what you like until you give it a go. My wife getting seas sick for the 1st time ever didn't help much but since she has felt great since getting off the boat we can only contribute it to the size of the boat and the bigger then expected rocking of the vessel.
Thanks for reading along and I hope you have a great rest of your week!
Thank you again for providing such a thorough and fair review. I value your opinion.

However, I don’t believe certain “demographics” determine whether or not you have a great time.😉

Thank you so much for taking the time to report on your experiences. My first cruise on Solstice is in 10 days, and I appreciate both the heartily positive and the brutally honest reviews.
-
Thanks so much for this wonderful review. I sail Nov. 26 same itinerary, and can’t wait for my first Celebrity cruise.
-
Please accept my condolences, dear one. I echo every hope that if you choose to cruise in the future, you will find your love in the next wave, and the next….

I appreciate all comments. Thank you so much. I have never sailed Celebrity before; November will be my first to Mexico on the Solstice. Nervous🤔 Excited🤭

If we don't travel, what do we do, sit at home being miserable?
I can't get over how I'm so ok with flying alone. lol
(I hope the little loving cup means thank you—I’m learning how to do this)

I am so grateful for the generous comments and advice on how to return to cruising for newly single solo sailors like me. So many kind ladies have shared their personal experiences. I am not real confident, but now I look forward to putting my toes back in the water. I have a lovely balcony cabin booked at the last minute while I still had my nerve; I will bring a book and a nice wrap for evenings and have my designated cocktails at different lounges. Thank you so much.

I don’t know what to say. I booked a cruise for November 26, 7-day to Mexico from LA on Celebrity Solstice. Just me. I was too mad not to, too sad not to. My husband died last year and I am tired of staring at the walls. We loved to cruise. I still do. I don’t know if I’m going to meet people or talk to folks or make friends or why I am doing this. I’m not even getting off the boat, I just need to watch the water go bye.

I board on Saturday and my cabin is (gulp) smack-dab in the center of the third deck. Could you please keep me posted about repairs? Thank you.

I will never go where you have been, but now I can say I have seen those beautiful creatures, and I can imagine how cold that gorgeous blue glacier must feel! Thank you for taking me with you...

I'm sorry but I'm excited about natural apple cider vinegar.
However, I believe there's a rule against listing commercial sites...? I am in PA, I fly to Venice for a cruise in May, and I found an American company that can ship my product to my Venice hotel in advance within 40 days at an affordable price.
Bob, what am I allowed to say?
-
If you're going to have it in your checked luggage...just be aware that it may delay having your luggage delivered to your cabin...as you will be called down to open your luggage and verify the contents...no big deal...just be aware of this as they will usually call you on your cabin phone to advise you of this and where to come.
How about if I carry it on as wine? Or just carry it on sealed from the store in Venice? Am I overthinking this? It's just that cider vinegar is so good my health.

Thanks for your advice. You folks are the nicest:)

Is it possible to bring bottles of Braggs cider vinegar aboard? Or do you think I can request a cup of natural cider vinegar from the kitchen/room service every day? I don't know how to walk a bottle of vinegar into the ship from Venice. :p

Why are people so smug and mean here? Especially to someone new?

I will take any hour, traditional dining times or my time dining, to secure a table for two on the Rhapsody (or any ship, I guess.) When the best time to get a table for two?
-
Thank you! I gotta admit, the food is important to me;)
-
I read more horror stories about MDR experiences that include forgotten drink orders, late deliveries, wrong orders...tons of time and a sad and frustrating experience. The crew work so hard, too. So I wondered if the evening dinner experience at the Windjammer wouldn't be better. The food is the same...? Is it set up nicely for dinner?
-
Hope you have a wonderful cruise ;)

I was downhearted by the reviews of the Rhapsody. I could not be more grateful for all the good, positive comments about the ship. I have been lucky in the past to sail with finer lines. I have once stayed at the Savoy! But I really like Comfort Inn and Marie Callender's, too. I know I will have a great cruise, thanks to you.:)

I am heavy hearted at how quickly the Rhapsody OTS is losing its review rating. Today another review cost the Rhapsody another downgrade. I was so happy to book a cruise on her for May 2016. That was five months ago. Today I read that the food is inedible, the cabins are worn and the fourth deck smells. Guess where my cabin is located😳 Can I expect even less by May?
-
Thank you so much! What a generous gift to those who haven't been on Rhapsody.

Your room steward and Dining Room Stewards are Indonesian and not Filipino on HAL
Perhaps you mean your wine attendant/steward? The beverage staff (beverage attendants, wine attendants, bartenders), Front Office attendants, the majority of the culinary staff and a lot of the technical staff are Filipino on HAL.
Thank you :o
Need some help navigating the Elite perks...

Please excuse me if this isn’t correct, I don’t want to muddy the waters. But I just called celebrity captains club and they say when you book and they know you have elite or other CC status, all those discounts and benefits are loaded on your card. I was as clear as I could be to the CC agent and explained that there is another opinion regarding discounts not being loaded unless you call CC directly, prior to the cruise. ???😳
