  1. Just got off the Dawn last sunday. I told the guy at check in that I was using cash and he just told me to go to the service desk after I got on board.

I did have my DSC pre paid but I don't think it would have made a difference anyway. I had $115 OBC from ncl and the bhg(?) promo so the only extra money I put down was $150 to pay for my Future Cruise Certificate.

No one ever made any mention to me about needing to do the $100 a day thing Ive read on here.

  2. Thanks for clarifying, I thought I was gonna have to go off on you about how its a WOE and not a fad diet and how unhealthy it is for you to go on and off all the time and all that, LOL!

I personally dont have too much issue with people modifying the Atkins program to their own lifestyle, I think you can still improve your health with this WOE without sticking to every last detail of the program. I DO however have a problem with people who bash it without even knowing how Atkins works or is designed. I run into this alot too. I just ignore them now.

I started Atkins to control my blood glucose levels and it has worked beautifully even with me modifying a few things here and there due to my having Celiac Disease.

  3. Warm Pumpkin Bowl (breakfast)

1/2 cup canned plain pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)

    1 egg

splash of cream, half&half or unsweetened almond or coconut milk

    dash of pumpkin pie spice

    dash of cinnamon

1 pkt artificial sweetener or splash liquid artificial sweetener

Whisk all together in microwave safe bowl until smooth. Microwave

on high 3-5 minutes or until set. (this will vary depending on depth of bowl)

I eat it with a little cream cheese smeared on top or you can drizzle with sugar free syrup. Makes a good warm breakfast.

    suitable for induction.

  4. If I knew I would sleep thru the noise, I would be perfectly happy on a cot in the engine room too. I'd still be on a cruise! Plus my dad would probably be sleeping right next to me. He's a retired Navy Machinist Mate, and he CAN sleep on a cot in the engine room! He actually slept thru a 7.1 earthquake once. Only woke up when the 6ft tall entertainment center in the living room crashed to the floor.

  5. Only been on one cruise so far but...I can say I really don't care what TYPE of stateroom I'm in. I do kinda care about LOCATION tho. On the first cruise my friend and I had an Inside my mom picked, while my parents had a Aft Penthouse Suite. So I got to experience both ends of the spectrum. While I liked the space in the Suite and enjoyed being out on their balcony, I was just as comfortable and happy in my tiny little inside.

Having said that, I am a VERY light sleeper. I didn't have a problem before because my inside was the last one on the section in our hallway on deck 8. But I do worry about being kept awake so for our next 2 (:D) cruises I have chosen specific rooms. There is only staterooms above, a hallway below and since they are sideways rooms on the end, they only have people on one end. On our cruise in 136 days its my parents right next to us so no problem there.

  6. Were the outdoor decks painted green or were they covered in that fake grass/astro terf/ felt kinda stuff????? Those pictures are priceless! I remember having a tv set that looked like the one in your stateroom. That was until we got the toe-breaker model. You know, the huge 1 ton floor model tv's with the pointy edges that stuck out real far and would break your baby toe when you kicked it as you walked by it. Yeah, we had one of those until I was about 11.

  7. I thought this 2pk of pocket chairs was a nifty find: http://www.walmart.com/ip/As-Seen-on-TV-Pocket-Chair/16609875?findingMethod=rr

I'm planning on ordering them before our 1st cruise in July. They should come in handy while waiting to get on/off the ship as well as during excursions. Small enough to fit in your pocket or purse. :)

Just a heads up- I bought this pocket chair for my brother for xmas so he could take it fishing with him, well, unless you're the size of a 5 year old you will not be able to sit on it painlessly. The seat is smaller than the size of a sheet of paper. No matter how he tried to sit on it he couldn't. And unless you are wearing cargo pants with huge pockets it will not fir in your pocket. Beach bag, yes. Pocket, no. It is also actually a pretty heavy little thing when folded. You may find that it works ok for what you need, I just wanted to give you a first hand experience with them.
