  1.

This is the 2nd time that I have used Rome in Limo and as with the first time, they are fantastic from start to finish. Jany was so patient with all my questions and helped immensely to organize our time in Italy. We were a group of 13 family and friends (all adults) in Rome for a few days before our transatlantic cruise.

We arranged for 2 vans to pick us up at the airport and drop us at our hotel in the heart of Rome. We then had Stefano and Francesco as our driver/guides for the next 3 days for our “Rome 3 days package”. The guys were full of interesting facts, great for giving suggestions for meals, as well as just being fun to be around.  They made sure that one of them would stay with the vans while the other one would walk us to the entrance ways and sometimes even managed to get us inside without waiting in big lines. Jany had also arranged for Barbara to be our guide for the Vatican Museum tour and she was also an excellent guide. Finally, we also arranged for Rome in Limo to transport all of us from our hotel to the cruise port in Civitavecchia.

Next we had a port stop in Livorno where we had arranged for 2 vans to take us to Pisa and Florence.  Due to weather issues, the ship was redirected to La Spezia instead of Livorno and Jany let me know about the change before we were even notified by the ship. That’s the kind of customer service you don’t get every day!

Vinny and Salvatore were our driver/guides for that day and as with all our previous guides, these 2 were a pleasure to work with as well.

The entire experience went seamlessly. From the airport/hotel/ship transfers, to the 3 day tour of Rome and the Pisa/Florence tour out of La Spezia, it was a wonderful time for our entire group.

I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone going to Rome or anywhere in Italy that Rome in Limo does business, but also I will be using them again when we are back in Italy in 2024.

  2. I guess if someone has sailed in the last 6 months they could let me know if they asked the room steward and if they did it for them or if i would have more luck with guest services. Didn't realize my question would be a burden for others. It looks as though I did cause you some grief and for that, I apologize. Have yourself a wonderful day.

    Janeyfm,

We sailed on the Escape in January 2017 and they would NOT open the balcony doors. We asked the steward and we went to Guest Services and both times were told that it was a safety issue. My husband was able to open the door and we only left it open as long as our group were in their rooms.

In comparison, in June 2016 my mom and I were on the Caribbean Princess for a UK cruise and the lock on our balcony dividing door was gone completely (rusted out). I had to wedge something between the door and the wall to stop it from banging back and forth all day and night...I guess Princess didn't think that it was too much of a security issue for them. I suppose it depends on the line and perhaps even the ship.

  3. SHIP: Equinox

    CABIN #: 6291

    DECK #: 6

    CLASS: Veranda

    AREA: Aft

    BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes during the day, the night...not so much

    BALCONY VIEW: Obstructed view

    BALCONY SIZE: normal

    WIND A PROBLEM?: no

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The cabin is directly above Blu and its kitchen.

Every night (any time between 11pm and 4am) there was intermittent banging and clanging below us. Think of big cookie sheets being “deposited” on metal shelving. It was enough to vibrate the floor. Would NOT stay in this cabin again.

  4. We've just returned from a 13 night cruise on the Equinox.

We had cabin 6291 and while it was a lovely and spacious obstructed view cabin, it was directly over Blu and their kitchen.

OMG! I don't know what those people were doing down there in the middle of the night but cabins 6283 through to 6291 had banging and clanging

going on off and on all night between 10pm and 4am. I know that 6283 complained and we also spoke with Guest Services about it, but nothing ever seems to come of it.

I had always heard to beware of public space above your cabin and lounges and such below, but from now on my cabins will only have cabins above and below.

The ship is beautiful and the crew are friendly but I would recommend that you only take these cabins if they are the last possible choice for the cruise.
