  1. I was checking them out online at dolphin discovery website, and cozumel was having a special of $30 dollars for the second swimmer with purchase of one at full price........almost like 2 for one

  2. Forgot to mention that I bought the Spa Thermal Suites pass before getting on the ship and it was the best place to be most days when I needed some peace and quiet. I'm used to going to the pool most days back home and it was a great place to just hang out in the water. The day we left Grand Cayman a group of youngish guys (early - mid 20s) were in there and they were extremely loud which kind of spoiled the ambiance for the rest of us. The signs say to be quiet, but not everyone can read! Same with the signs that stated to not leave your stuff on the chairs while you went and spent an hour using the facilities... how rude!

nice review......with the unlimited beverage package everyone is getting, turning their ships into drunk tanks

  3. Harvest Caye will be their private island. It isn't ready yet so no one is going to be able to help you with that one -- although if I was going there like my trip was supposed to, I'd be using it as an awesome free beach day!

For Roatan, I'd go to the port boards on CC to see everything there is to offer. Everyone loves the Victor Bodden excursions (you can go to the website to see everything they have to offer) -- these are not through the ship. I've also read great things about Bananarama and Maya Key.

    Hope this is helpful.

thank you, and yes it was very helpful......already checked victor bodden's website and found many possibilities

  4. we are looking at western cruises next feb......haven't cruised carnival, and the 2 we selected were the Magic and the Splendor..the only difference being the Splendor goes to the Cayman Islands and the Magic goes to Costa Maya....what I am basically asking is the differences in the ships

  5. The rate differential between May and January stays for above average properties are night and day. The Crowne you'll be staying at for 150 at the end of May is running 312 in January, 343 in early February and 353 in late February.

tell me about it......I just booked 2 rooms at the hampton inn brickell for feb 6th, cruising the 7th and paid $237 + for each......but I wanted to stay downtown

  6. I worked a block away from the Marriott Marquis in downtown Miami up until December when I retired. It's right near the Miami River and 3 blocks from Bayfront Park and Bayside. Good location to everything. The Miami Metromover has a stop at Bayfront Park and at 1st Street station - the Marquis is half way between those stops and it's FREE. You can also take the Brickell Metromover (again - FREE) over the river to Mary Brickell Village - tons of restaurants- nice, quaint neighborhood. Downtown Miami can become somewhat seedy at night - homeless people sleep out in Bayfront Park. I wouldn't walk around alone at night except in the Brickell area, which is why, personally, I think the Hampton Inn Brickell is a better choice.

Thank you for your help. Just booked two rooms there for our feb cruise

  7. need help choosing between the Hampton Inn Brickell or the Marriot Marquise...I can get a great rate on the Marquise on LMT......but I was wondering about the surrounding area....I have heard plenty around the Hampton Inn in Brickell, but was wondering what is around the Marriot Marquise and is the area safe to wonder around. TIA

  8. It is a Courtyard Marriott. There seem to be 3 Marriotts within that general area. We were originally going to book the one on Biscayne Bay- but it was ~$50 more/night for the same general room.

Haven't made a final decision yet, but thinking of going with hampton inn in brickell. I see they are opening a Homewood Suites in downtown/brickell area in July

  9. Had a cabin on 13 aft, and on the night of the Glow Party, it was really loud at a late time. All other nights we hardly heard anything. I'm guessing on deck 14 it will a bit louder on that particular night. Bring some earplugs and you should be fine.

I am in aft 13306 in feb 2016.....was wondering if the balcony was large enough for lounger....saw videos of aft balconies but they were on the 9th deck

  10. Mbaldriche--

FROM CRUISE CRITIC SEARCH....." We were in 12906 in July and had 2 chairs and 2 loungers. My brother was next door in 12908. It came with 2 chairs and 1 lounger, but our wonderful steward, Juana, quickly found a second (within 5 minutes of being asked and no $ changed hands). With any luck its still there. Enjoy!

12906 has bed near balcony, 12908 near closet."

That's all I've found so far, but I'd love a review of your cabin after your cruise if I could... I'm on this ship for my honeymon!!

    Thanks!!

i was on the Epic and some of the balcony's opened up to the neighboring balcony if friend or family was booked in there, and I was wondering if the balconies in the aft were all separated, or could the cabin steward open up the partition between the two???

  11. Okay....1 have ONE FCR for sale...need to know by morning Eastern Time, otherwise I'll cancel it.

This worked-out. When I called a few weeks ago, if she re-booked me to use the FCR it would have lost the $200 OBC I had. BUT it's a 14 day cruise, and she can now pay the DSC for me with the new promo, so I'm getting the DSC that I had pre-paid refunded, plus the FCR applied.... seems like I won all around.

I think it's Karma for being willing to sell the other one for $150. :)

    Thanks Hawkeyetise!

    .

confused...if I buy a FCR, does the obc that comes with it , is that for the current cruise you are on, or the future cruise you book

  12. .

A totally silent video tour of my recent stateroom onboard Norwegian Getaway.

    Aft-Facing Large Balcony (B1) #9322

An extremely deep balcony that is about 80% covered. Unless you were against the railing, no one from above would be able to see you.

Pretty much the only word I have to describe the stateroom, the view, its position on the ship, the assigned room steward, and just the entire ship (including crew) as a whole . . . PERFECTION. :)

There was zero aft vibration issues throughout the week.

The distance to the elevators/stairs isn't bad at all.

The single-best balcony I've booked on any cruise over multiple lines. Loved it!!

    .

just booked 13306......loved the video.....tried to get 9922, but we are not wheelchair bound
