  1. Just a note - 1st night embarkation day is "casual" and if you have 1st seating you may even see people in shorts. Our trip had the muster drill at 5pm people were still boarding at 4:30 doubt they had time to change into something better.

Did it look odd - alittle

Did they get turned away - didn't see any except one women in swimwear and nothing to cover up.

  2. I read someplace about 2months ago that the full restaurant/bar and entertainment areas was opening around late Dec early Jan.

Sounds interesting with pool and slides and a pirate ship never been to one thats had anything more than food an drinks.

  3. Been on the MSC Poesia last week Feb 11-18 2012, and what an experience that was. Yes I read all the posts and do agree to disagree. Case in point when you enter a buffet line, you do not shove your way through and not say excuse me in your language or enter the theater late and come into a seat and barge through, without saying something. I offered to get up and let someone into a seat and I could not move fast enough for the impatient and rude Europeans.

The staff are dimwits( No English whatsoever. Do they not leave from Ft Lauderdale, Florida USA. You ask them a simple question and they look at you like you have 3 heads. Or they just say NO or refer you to the reception desk. Do they wear blinders and just do not think? No manners either. ie..will not hold a door open for you or help you. Learn ENGLISH FOR STAFF. Manners are Manners and if you want American people to come on their cruise-ship, bend a little or leave from the Caribbean and not the USA.

Wow we were on the sailing prior and never found a crew member who couldn't speak/understand reasonably good english. I do agree about the seating but on our sailing americans did it too and without staff in the theater, seats were being saved by all regardless of the requests not to do so. I found reception staff to be the most rude out of all the staff onboard. I asked for a piece of tape the woman had the dispenser within inches of her hand and she said NO we don't have any, then I heard a man in a scooter ask for a screwdriver to fix the handle on his scooter and again the woman said No didn't even offer to call someone to try and help. The girls at the spa were the most helpful always holding the doors to go out to the pool once we got off the elevators said good morning asked how we were and not in a sales type of way.

I do question your statement with how leaving from the caribbean instead of florida would make any change other than making it more of a PITA to get to and from the ship.

  4. wow when I google my name it comes up with hundreds of people seems like alot of work for a store website considering they don't gain anything from it.

I'd bet everyone had something else in common other than being randomly chosen from the same cruise.

2000 passengers and someone knows multiple people it happened to - might suggest looking at them as a possible suspect - just saying.

  5. Really a store/website doing the backtracking of a fraudulent purchase - I doubt it -thats the credit card companies job.

Store customer service gives information that it happened with alot of people and is specific enough to name the cruiseline - I doubt it

    something smells fishy.

  6. If you had a picture would you seriously walk around looking for a criminal?

What would be wrong with passing by him and not knowing that you did?

There seems to be a presumption here that this person is not dangerous. These stories indicate that he is a criminal but the fact that there are no posts which indicates he is vicious doesn't mean he isn't.

When we ran into this person, even though it was before we read about him here, as soon as I realized his story stunk my instinct was to get away from him as soon as possible!! If I ever ran into him again I don't think it would be a good idea to chat with him about how I know he is a criminal nor would I ask for his autograph or photo. I wouldn't think it wise to put a desperate criminal on the spot.

    .

No I wouldn't be intentionally looking for him but it would be a nice idea for those that want to avoid him and not have to wait for the story to start especially if he is dangerous. Spot him down the road so you can go a different direction or walk on the other side of the street.

Might also help the police catch him if they care enough to do something about it. Picture is better than peoples verbal descriptions especially if everyone here is talking about the same exact person.

I'm not saying pose with him an say cheese but with so many zoom lense cameras someone could surely get a picture from a safe distance.

  7. He can't find anyone that speaks english at all? odd especially in tourist areas.

Heck if I ran into this guy I'd scream at the top of my lungs "Anyone local speak english, this man needs help getting to the hospital"

I guess CC and nearly all tour books need to change the port information if he can't find anyone speaking english in all this time, cause they all says pretty much the same:

"Spanish and English are the official languages of Puerto Rico. In tourist areas, English predominates."
