Hi cruising peeps. After a lay off for a few years, we are looking at booking Cuban fusions/Pride of Panama for March next year. I know this is a relatively new ship to the fleet, but would like others views on it. My son, Darren is no longer with the crew so can't ask him. Do we need any type of Visa for this trip? and what about vaccinations? Also has anyone done a similar itinerary? If so are there any independent agents that we can do trips with? We went with Cosol in St Lucia and they did a fantastic trip for us. That is all i can think kf at the moment. Any advice welcome :)

Hi all, although we have cruised before, this will be our first time with P&O. We are doing the Fiji Adventure on the Pacific Dawn on the 16th April.
We are from the Uk and the main reason we have booked this, is because our son and his partner, will be part of the entertainment team. We are also taking my mum, who will be able to tick watching her grandson perform on a cruise ship, off her bucket list.
will welcome any advice especially regarding what people tend to wear (especially if there is a formal night or special party nights), money to take, and the price of drinks (most important) I believe we have a free soft drinks package. We were also told we get a free mystery tour? can anyone enlighten me? Also as we are in the UK, what is the best way to book any trips and what is worth doing on our itinierary?. Think that had better do for now. I look forward to hearing your replies Thank you in advance. :D

Thanks everyone for your help and advice. I'm sure with this we can look forward to finding our way around a bit easier. Great site and I hope we can be as much help to others once we have experienced a few trips.:)

Thanks for the info Jenny. We weren't sure whether we would have to do one of the Thomson excursions in order to see the best of Venice, but i know more often than not, that you can do the same things on your own at a fraction of the cost so i think we will probably try this. :)

Hi Linda. We are also staying for a week in Dubrovnik. During the cruise we are calling at Koper, Rijeka, Korcula, and Durres, so any info on these places would be welcome. Thanks :)

Thanks for that Pensioncruiser, will take a look

Hiya Stevie. Hope you are well. Yes i remember the leg ;) We are all good thanks and Darren is still singing and dancing his way around the ships. He's joining P&O Australia in January. :) Won't be going though as we'd just booked this latest trip. He's also getting married in 2017 so lots of things going on. give my best to Mrs Steve x

Not been to Croatia before and will be visiting a few new places, such as Venice . We've looked at Thomson's excursions and considered them, but what advice would peeps give as to how to get around Venice? Would we be better doing our own thing, or sticking with the Thomson excursion for this one? Would like to see all the usual attractions as well as gondola ride. Also for anyone who has done this cruise, any advice on other ports of call? We are not massive fans of visiting historical sites or churches. We much prefer to see how the locals live and spend time wandering around looking at various sites.
cheers for any advice :)

We have booked an inside cabin this time as well

Hi all, back on the Celebration June next year. Have booked deck 3/4 but not decided on cabin yet. Seems the cabin numbers have changed since we were last on in 2012, when we had cabin 392 on deck 3. Would like to do deck 3 again, and wondered what cabin people recommend?:):

Cabin Review Format
Cabin Number:5104
Cruise Ship: Thomson Dream
Date of Cruise:17/02/2013
Bed Formation: Double, can be converted to twin

Comment on the Size of the Cabin: good
Comment on any Noise Issues: slight vibration, ceiling panels rattle and have been stuffed with paper around edges
Comment on Storage Space: good
Comment on the Bathroom: powerful shower 2 separate shower heads a bit confusing to use.
Any Other Comments?: some of the metal skirting coming away, white filler showing in cracks in headboard and split wood on headboard unsightly. Mattress does not fit bedframe and was padded out with flannels and masking tape on edges of bed after accident reported
Would You Recommend this Cabin?: If fittings were sorted out

Thanks for that as i am currently on antibiotics though they are the sort you can stop when infection has cleared. On checking, these also say be careful if you are likely to be exposed to strong sunlight as they may cause a rash. So hopefully by Friday, my eye will be better and i can come off them before we go away at the weekend.

Hi there,
Just got back from 2 weeks on the Dream and it was brilliant but I think we paid too much, We went direct with Thomson through the Travel Agent. Can anyone tell me the cheapest place to book Thomson Cruises. ?? as we want to go again asap :D:D
Pleased you had a good time. We looked on line, then went to the TA, but they couldn't give us any more off the price. I guess it depends on the TA

thanks Geo and cruise, just that Joeholiday2 is going on Dream same time as us and mentioned seeing Darren perform, but not sure when they saw him as Jh2 was on Celebration beginning of April last year, before Darren started and i wondered if he had mixed him up with the other Darren who is on the Dream as Jh2 did say he had also cruised on Destiny, and i wondered if the other Darren was on the Destiny and this is who Jh2 means. :)

For some reason, searching has been disabled, so i can't look for posts by others nor is the "search this forum" available. Does anyone know if this a site problem?
Thanks :)

Well i don't usually drink much, but we have got a drinks package. I do like cocktails so plenty of choice there. However disappointed with supplement on Tia Maria as this is my favourite drink, so may have to switch to Malibu. :(
As i like to have cans of soft drinks, which i drank quite a lot of on our last cruise, i am really disgusted with the supplement for these especially as 95p for a can is ridiculous. I feel sorry for those who have children on board.
We have paid a lot of money for this drinks package and i feel we will not get our moneys worth this time!

Thanks so much gizzie4. Darren's swing session was amazing by the way! Loved it.
anything i can do to help :) Thanks for the lovely comment x i love to hear his swing stuff though at the age of 12 trying to convince him to learn a swing number was another story :)

Hi Lynne i will certainly ask Darren though i'm not sure he will know. I believe a lot of the work is contracted out, e.g the hairdressers is through a group that i have never heard of. As i said i will ask him, don't hear from him very often though:)

Can anyone recommend any independent tours at any of the ports on Cuban Fusion/Exotic Explorer. Going to do the old cars in Havana and possibly Cave tubing/zipwire in Belize, but i remember doing a fab tour with Cosal in St Lucia and it was much cheaper and more fun than the Thomson trips. Have looked at a few but would prefer some tried and tested companies as these ports are new to us. Saying that, the ones i have looked at so far, don't seem much cheaper than Thomson. Just want to make sure we are safe with our choices.
Thanks all
