Princess pulling the ole bait and switch.  Pretty ballsy.

Seems kind of illegal to sell you something and then pull it back and still expect same cruise fare.

We’re Platinum but pretty much done with Princess.  We’re fed up that we book about 2 years in advance and select a specific cabin only to have it changed once we board.  I can’t do business with a company that I can’t trust

We also are Platinum, and this may be our last cruise on Princess.  In the past, Platinum got free wi-fi but now we get to pay...but with a 50% discount if we didn't elect Plus or Premium.  The only nice thing for us is that Princess offers OBC for my husband who is a veteran.  I certinly hope our pre-selected cabin won't have changed when we board next week.

My river cruise departs May 11;  I personally don't believe it will go.  I think AMA will cancel all cruises thru May

I suspect you are correct.  I wish AMA was as accomadating as almost all other cruise companies who have been generous about canceling for future cruise credit without additional 'insurance charges".  Frankly, I'm surprised at AMA Waterways' position given the worldwide uncertainty.  AMA has always been a leader...but I guess not this time.

We are doing a 14 day cruise out of AMS in June!!! Any tips from former Ama sailers? This is our first river boat cruise!!!

    sueleekey,

River cruises are wonderful, and you can'tgo wrong with Ama!  We're doing Nuremberg to Luxembourg in June (just the river part).  Be sure you try the chef's table at the stern.

    Hey Gold Mine Gal,

It's early 2018 so you are back from your Nov 2017 trip aboard Star Princess. We are booked on her for Nov 2018. Any insight you can give for that time of year on that ship is appreciated. It will be our first time in Hawaii. Thank you in advance.

  5. After browsing through the excellent Copenhagen thread I thought about starting one for Iceland as well:

I'm a regular cruiser that lives in Reykjavik, Iceland and not affiliated with any tour companies. So if you have any questions about the Icelandic ports of call and surrounding attractions feel free to ask.

    Main port: Reykjavik (Capital).

Secondary ports: Akureyri (largest town in the north of Iceland), Seydisfjordur (a small town on the east coast) and Isafjordur (a town in the rugged northwestern part of Iceland).

Do you have suggestions on how to get from our Oceania Insignia cruise ship to the airport? Is the Flybus from the bus terminal a good option? Thank you in advance.

  6. We will be on a Princess cruise stopping at Ville Saguenay, Canada on Oct.3rd 2015. All the shore excursions are booked from the cruise line. Can anyone recommend a tour. The ship is departing at 2 pm making it a short day. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

You may want to join the Cruise Critic Roll Call for this trip. I did not see 2two cruisers among those who have joined. Looking forward to meeting you.

  7. We took the HOHO bus a few years ago and it was great. We got off at a museum in an old paper mill. It's along the river, and the scenery was gorgeous. We walked down the hill to the town, and I took lots of pictures of the river and ruins of some of the mill buildings. We were there later in Oct than OP, and colors were past their prime, but even so I got some god shots.

It appears that the HO-HO bus may be our best bet for our short time in port. I have checked www.tomsportguides.com and found lots of great information.

  8. We used this company last September - they did a nice tour and we enjoyed our afternoon. Pickup is at the port - they used one of the kiosks for check in.

Thank you for the link to the company you used. I checked the website which says the tour is not available. I must assume that it has already filled. Perhaps there will be another opportunity at the kiosks.

    Hi 2two cruisers

We are on the same Princess cruise and are waitlisted on Princess' Hiking Saguenay Nat. Park tour. If 2 spots don't open up, maybe we can meet and explore Saguenay together.
