I was on the Dawn the first week of June and am Canadian. I purchased $800 in OBC online, my cruise was booked in CAD$ and the purchase online was converted at a better rate 1.07 when I booked. When I arrived in my room there were cards in there for all $800. I took these to the casino cashier and was able to get US cash no questions asked, it was no problem at all. It was well worth it to purchase the OBC especially noticing the rate is now 1.30 at my bank. It was a 3% surcharge that we paid but with the rate the way it is it was still a savings for us.

We are planning a day pass at Coco Reef because my elderly parents are travelling with us and I thought this would be a good place where we could all go and enjoy both because it has beach access for those that want the beach but also a pool where my parents could enjoy the water too. I have looked at pictures online and now I am concerned that my dad (who uses a walker and a cane) will not be able to get into the pool. It looks like there is a set of stairs into a small kiddy pool. Can anyone tell me if that is the case or can you still get into the rest of the pool easily from the stairs and not by using a ladder?
Also, from the restaurant there seems to be a staircase down to the pool, is this the only way to access the pool or is there a way to go around? I think he can do the stairs if he takes his time but would be better if there was another access point. Thanks

We are staying at the Best Western in Quincy before our cruise in May out of Boston and the shuttle times they have are 10am or noon. I think 10am is too early but noon is kind of late. We want to get on the ship and enjoy lunch but our room won`t be ready. We are in a suite, does anyone know when the rooms are ready or are suites ready before the other rooms. Is arriving at the port at 10:30am too early. We have only cruised Carnival and arrived around 11:30am to check in. Thanks

I cancelled and rebooked because I had originally booked directly through NCL's website and so was paying in US$$. With the rate of exchange now and my balance due mid March it was worth it to rebook through my travel agent in CAD and get all 3 of the promo's. I think it ends up being $1000 to my credit in the end.

I just cancelled and rebooked my cruise because of the promotion and yes the difference was large in comparison. It was listed around $4700U.S on ncl's website but through my travel agent the price was $5550CAD. It's sad that just a year ago we were able to book at comparable prices. Our dollar really sucks right now.

At 10 months out I really think you will be eating more then an ounce at a time. I am 4 months out and eat 3oz of protein at dinners with a few bites of veggies so if you order a 6oz steak you would probably be able to eat half of it and with time between courses you may eat a bite or two of an app. In the hospital they had us eating 2oz of yogurt or cream of wheat.
Enjoy your cruise and dont worry about the food, your tool will help take care of that. I am cruising at 10 months out too and cant wait.

I can't wait to read the rest of your review I already like your writing style. My family is on the Pride May 5, party of 14 and we can't wait.

Could you tell me if your table for 13 was a cramped table or did you all have the usual space? I am travelling on May 5th with a group of 14 and thought we may have to be at two tables. On our Legend cruise we only had a table for 12. Thanks

We are Canadian and didn't require a visa, just our passport and s&s card. We use our passport as our photo ID.

So, are you really saying that you didn't have to get up at 5am to go down and clear customs on the ship for non-US citizens. Both times this year in Florida we had to do that, once on the Legend and then on the Fascination. Please tell me it isn't so and I will be one happy cruiser.

Thanks for doing another Pride review, I can't get enough of them right now. We are sailing May 5th on the Pride and driving to Baltimore from Ajax, just east of Toronto. Can you please tell me exactly where that restaurant is it looks like it would be the perfect place to stop for lunch and also was it about half way to Baltimore? Thanks.

My mom has had both her knees done although not together. She found her recovery about 3 months. She has had to have one redone because of a lot of pain, they discovered an infection in the knee so it had to be removed, left out for 3 months on IV medication and will have another put back in this November. We have a cruise booked for May which she will have a scooter for just in case. There is definitely a way for you to cruise it's really a matter of how you want to do it. Rent a wheelchair or scooter that way you will get around easier and be able to participate in whatever you want to.

I was also on this cruise and it was quite a ride. This was my second time doing this same cruise and I'm not in a hurry to do it again, last time the ride wasn't quite as bad as this time. I loved the Alterr Band too we sat outside the pub a few different nights listening to them. Looking forward to your take on this cruise.
