De Rotterdam BV (shipowners) have made public that the s.s. Rotterdam will be open to the public as of 31 March 2008.

Mr. Elemans (manager) expects that the ship will be towed to Rotterdam between half December and half January. The remaining period will be needed to put the ship into operation.

I do agree, no ship or line can hold a candle to the Oceanic and Home Lines. I'm going on my 40th cruise in October thru the Panama Canal on Holland America. They are a fine line, but can't even come close to Home Lines. Those were the days!!!

But the HAL ship that could compete with Oceanic no longer sails for HAL, but is now in Gdansk waiting for her restoration and to be brought back to her home-town.
