  1. I just got off the Breakaway 10/16 cruise and had the pleasure of staying in a slanted balcony room, which I discovered per Cruise Critic's suggestion. For those of you who don't know, these balconies are priced the same as the base balconies, except they have additional space because they're on the "hump" of the ship. I highly recommend it! The balcony was huge. I'm surprised NCL doesn't charge more for it.

The balcony faces backwards, which minimizes the amount of wind you face. It is also good for people watching. The every morning, without fail, someone would be playing shuffleboard on the 6th or 7th deck show in the third deck. If you're gonna book this cruise early, I'd look into booking one of these rooms.

  2. they jammed all signals so we cannot hear the truth from within

i am on the edge of my seat though. if they go , then certainly the BA will go. if not then i spend 2 days in limbo torturing myself with last minute plans that may be irrelevant

If we never hear a confirmation from them, I hope the Anthem cruisers are at least a little more courteous!

Lol, I too spent all day yesterday planning a Canadian cruise. We've been hearing nothing but good news, but I want to know for certain, dammit!!

  3. O boy, so what, He is a Police Officer who the hell cares?

and I love our boys and gals in blue, but how does

that change a Hurricane out there?

Read the fine line when you book your cruise, they

only have to guarantee that you we get on Board

Lord I gladly take the place of whomever wants to

    trade places

I have a feeling the Breakaway is going to go to Canada because of people throwing hissy fits this week. I'm going to think of this idiot when I'm freezing my ass off on my balcony on Monday.

  4. We would have actually been fine with this and even packed an extra sweater and jacket just in case we got to the port and were told we couldn't sail south because of Matthew. Any port in Canada or New England would be better than Port Canaveral and Nassau -- warmer or not, you're not even given enough time there to visit a beach!

I think the pro-Canada crowd is forgetting how much the loss of a pool affects a cruise. The one day it rained on our at-sea day on our Western Caribbean cruise last year sucked bad. I know the Breakaway is better than the ship I was on (the Vision) but it's still limited and really an outdoors cruise ship. They don't even have an indoor pool available (unless you pay!)!!

I'm going to be pissed if this week's Breakaway diverts to Canada instead of PC/Nassau. I even splurged for a balcony - it'd be a complete waste. I'd even take the crappy port times if it means warm weather.

  5. I've tried searching for this everywhere but I can't seem to find an answer. I'm going to Bermuda on the 10/16 cruise that docks at Bermuda for 2.5 days. What time do you have to be back on the ship by on the first and second night you're there? Someone told me the Royal cruise they went on closed the doors for the night at 12:00 AM. Does Norwegian do this too? Thanks!

  6. There's a user on here who's done both (mistygirl or something?) and the pics are very detailed.

I'm going to Maya Key next week. I've never been to either, and was torn for a while. But, I think Little French Key has gotten too expensive. Maya Key has snorkeling right off the pier, which is something to consider, and the food was included - $70 pp. LFK was $88 pp for food and 2 drinks per person + $13 of Honduran tax (total $111 or 113 pp) . If you want to snorkel, it's an extra $10 pp. LFK has had a rough year, with their animals being confiscated and now having to charge it's customers 15% tax. Hopefully things turn around for them.

  7. I might cancel now. Maya Key is $69 v as opposed to $98 (if you include the extra $10 pp to snorkel vs snorkel for free). Both packages have food, but LFK has 2 free drinks. I highly doubt my two drinks will equal $30.

Its a shame, it looks like both places were much cheaper before. LFK should eat the tax, IMO.

  8. Hi all,

We booked a cave tubing tour for 11/17 through cave-tubing.com. The crappy thing is that our ship arrives at 7 AM and departs at 5 PM (RC Vision of the Seas). I was wondering what time you would suggest we get out the door that day? What time does the ship realistically start the tenders? What time does the cave tubing tour leave?

    Thanks!!

  9. I signed up for LFK yesterday but didn't submit payment. I'm guessing you pay in cash when you get there? I emailed them, but they are slow to respond. I'd like to make sure because I have to cancel Maya Key and don't want to be stuck without either.

  10. Never knew this was ever a promo. Is this only for UK customers or do they run it for US customers as well?

For the OP - you can always look at Norwegian. Every cruise I look at has the free beverage package option. Albeit, those cruises are always more expensive.

  11. I just found out about the accident a few years ago where someone drowned :( Are these companies more careful now? I read that is was Carnival's fault, but cave-tubing.com was there and helped out (meaning they also went out that day). Anyone else concerned?

  12. I just found this. I'm excited that we get to save about $100 and get a better overall experience. How far ahead should I book for cave tubing if our cruise is in Nov? Where do the shuttles pick you up? Is there any reason to choose one over the other?

    Thanks!

  13. Do you have to book the Native Choice tour ahead of time? My wife is really pulling for a beach day, so it's between the Mahahual or this tour. I'd really prefer to make the decision the day of, depending on what the weather is like.

FWIW, our cruise is in the middle of November.
