  1. Here is one of the many examples of lack of functionality. In your earlier post you mentioned:

"Along the way, fellow cruisers, I hit a page during my mock booking that allowed me to choose "deals found for me" where I was able to decide on GO BIG BEST OR BETTER."

    +

Problem is, there is currently no way to get to the page that lets you look at the price for zero perks with a 55+ or residence fare.

    1. Maybe Celebrity has decided to do away with that option??? I think it also depends on the itinerary.

    2. I just looked at a Silhouette Caribbean cruise on the old website and chose AQ which gave me the option to GO Better (2 perks) or Go Best (all 4 of course). When I chose the "Want to see if you qualify for a different discount?" link, it brought me to the page where you enter your state and check the 55+ box. When I hit "check for offer" the perk choice was made for me - 2 perks (Drinks and OBC). If I click on SKIP, the same thing happened - the choice was made for me.

    3. And you're right, no option exists on new website, for now. Hoping that changes for you and that you find the option you're looking for eventually on the new site.

  2. I know they made a big deal about a year ago when they announced they were working on a new website and I believe at that time they named their supplier (who I thought was Accenture but I could be wrong)

;p that explains a lot. Yikes! Have not had good experience with Accenture.

  3. Anthem has them

That's your concern? Your plate must be very empty to take that on...

I personally do not feel they are required on Celebrity; let the responsible parties, not the cruise line, look out for their own!

Not just about unattended children, it's about getting into a bucket of water and being responsible adults with their own drinking, medication, abilities, whatever.

The most recent alleged incident aboard Anthem occurred while a lifeguard was on duty.

  4. Only OBC was from Go Best, so $300 but to me a fare that saves me $2,500 plus out of pocket is better than $800 OBC. 14 day cruise 7400. These fares aren't always available-like any other deal they come and go and can be offered by TA 1 this month but next month they may have no deals but TA 2 or 3 does. Takes a lot of luck and searching.

Wow, that must be a lot of luck and searching. I've never found anything other than standard X fares on any TA site I've been on.

  5. Wow,

We have gotten to travel in Suites for the last couple of years and just loved it. However, the cost now has all of a sudden gone through the roof. Celebrity has certainly up the perks but the costs even more...

Were going back to our old reliable Veranda... We can buy our perks for a lot less..

    Whats your thoughts????

I've got an S2 booked for Bermuda in August of this year that regretfully need to release back into the market before final payment. When I checked to see about rescheduling for next year, the price was $1100 more for same suite class. That to me is ridiculous. My original booking date was December during $25 deposit days. Not that long ago.

I thought booking cruises so far out (more than a year in advance of August 2018) would net me a great price to replace this year's booking. Not so. :(

I even looked at Anthem but while the fare is lower for a Jr Suite the perks just aren't all there and the lower cost reflects the shorter itinerary.

  6. My DW and I have a cruise booked on Summit for August. Final payment is coming up and due to my class schedule, that will be finals week, unless I delay starting my term. Unexpected glitch in the plans.

We paid an incredible price for an S2 and to reschedule for next year would add $1200 to the fare. I hate to give this cruise up because of the price increase to rebook next year and, well, it's Bermuda.

I'm wondering if this might be our last chance to cruise out of Bayonne on Summit. Maybe we should JUST DO IT! swoosh. Take the cruise.

Or maybe cancel and wait to see what transpires - Edge class out of Bayonne :D, now that would be worth waiting for.

  7. We just got notified by our travel agent today that we had been bumped from our cabin on the Transatlantic cruise from Miami to Southampton leaving on April 16. We booked this several months ago, had a cabin assignment, printed our Xpress pass, received luggage tags and our bags were packed but Celebrity has now given our cabin to someone else.

I had no idea this was even possible but apparently this is happening to several people on this cruise.

This really stinks. I hope everything gets worked out for you.

I read on CC while back about a couple who flew all the way to Sydney for a cruise on the Solstice only to be told AT CHECK-IN that they didn't have a cabin and were turned away.:o

It could be worse but yes, I can totally understand how frustrating this must be for you to have to replan vacation mere days before launch. Kind of turns your world upside down. I hate when stuff like that happens. I like things orderly and on time.
