  1. Thank you for all this information.

My wife Claire and I will be on the September 26th Cruise. I believe it is the last cruise for Princess to Alaska this "season". We are frequent  cruisers with almost 60 with Princess. First time on Majestic and I am sure reading this (all pages over several days) will help us navigating the details.

    Again thank you,

    John and Claire

  2. GREAT BLOG

My wife Claire will be back to the CP in June. We will have spent appx. 20 cruises on Her.

    My question is:

After the Crane fell on the RC ship in the Dry Dock the CP was scheduled for,  we heard the CP was rescheduled as DRY DOCK.

Later we heard it labeled Dry Dock/ Wet Dock. Was the ship actually DRY DOCKED ? They needed to cut a hole in the ship to work on the Engine(s). The propeller and the shaft (and who knows what else)  needed replacement to "fix" the horrible "vibrations". I don't know if that repair (which was scheduled for more than a year) was actually done. The problems was mostly Mid Aft.

We experienced LOUD sound and VIBRATIONS that made it impossible to sleep. After 3 days they moved us and all in all it was a great cruise. We love the CB and for a 14 year old she is still one of our favorites. Princess bends over backward to make right any problems.

Any information you may have (or get) will be greatly appreciated. If not, I will ask myself in June.

    Thanks in advance,

    John

  3. Good Morning,

We are still here "LIVE" on the beautiful Regal Princess and would like to thank you all for giving this thread a "life of it"s own".

I would especially like to thank Kris for all the great accurate information she has given us. I had the great pleasure of meeting her and she is as charming in person as she is informative and intelligent. Please keep helping us sort out the "real News" and not what someones opinion or hopes about ***** are.

When I started this thread I had no idea the quality of information and comments that have been and will be posted here.

Again thank you all we will see you all some day on a Princess cruise.

    God bless you all.

  4. Live From Regal Princess Ocean Medallion Cruise - Day 2 - Nov 14, 2007

Had breakfast with one of the " Chosen Ones " who checked in yesterday and was issued a medallion. He said he did not have a clue what it was or why he was chosen. His door unlocked one time and after that stopped working. He was issued a "back-up card" and said his package came with no instructions and no one contacted him with help or instruction. I told him to contact any team member and they would help him. Communication seems to be lacking but I am sure that will improve with time.

We want this technology to succeed so we all can enjoy the many ways it will improve our "come back NEW experience "

PS foods been great, people friendly , and the ship beautiful.

Princess we are rooting for you.

  5. Yes we are finally LIVE FROM THE REGAL PRINCESS,

Thank you Kris for your complete report on our meeting today with Jan and John.

I can't add anything that you folks have not (very well I might Add) reported.

Our experience so far has been positive. Claire and I (John) walked right on to the ship with only brief stops to put in our credentials. We are not part of the ***** (yet) but hope to be very soon. Like I said to John Padgett, I hope to be able to report from both sides of this adventure. Everyone (crew and the "***** Team ") is upbeat and friendly.

Jan Swartz is as charming as I knew she would be and John is a true innovator attempting to do the near impossible.

Are there bumps in the road ahead? Most certainly but it is my belief that John and his team (of which I have become an honorary member) WILL pave this road as quickly as possible. No promises as to when the technology will be rolled out to everyone. They are doing what no one has ever done before.

Remember: The difficult is easy and the impossible takes a little longer.

Good Luck Princess - We all wait with baited Breath...

LIVE FROM THE BEAUTIFUL REGAL PRINCESS - Day 1 (of at least 27)

  6. Claire and I are about to embark on our 27 day (maybe more) adventure on or favorite Princess Ship.

The beautiful Regal Princess will shine as the first of a long line of Ocean Medallion Class Cruise Ships. We don't exactly know what is in store for us but are looking forward with baited breath to the possibilities of new adventures, old friends and another dose of "come back new" and "Escape completely".

We look forward to seeing you there (or telling you about our experience) as we make History as the first (paying) passengers on the seas of new possibilities for fun, fun and did I mention fun!

We will sign in LIVE at our first opportunity and share our adventure.

Join in the conversation, ask questions, answer them I you can. This is my first time doing this and I will try to get the answers you need and, as just a passenger, unravel the unknown wonders of these first cruises.

    2 day and counting,

    John McGbbon

  7. Good morning,

Do the math. If you have an extra 6 to 7,000 in the bank at <1% interest and leave it long term and cruise at least 2 or 3 times a year it might be a good investment. CCL is now paying 40 cents dividend 4x per year (that alone is $160,) It is not a high risk stock and seems to be holding and increasing in value. We got it at about $35 and hope soon to double that. We have cruised at least 3 to 5 times a year and got at least 6% interest With OBC. (a 14 day cruise has paid $250) Try getting that in a bank!

If you are/were military They thank you for your service (as do I) with more OBC.

Bottom line good deal for some not so for others.

    God bless and happy cruising,

    John
