Have a great trip...I wish I were planning a cruise right now but sadly I'm not :(...lol but soon :)

Great review...I'm checking out as many as I can to get some tips and hints on the Breeze...my partner and I sail Dec 6, 2014 (anniversary - 23 years and Birthday cruise all in one...oh yeah and Christmas :)) I noticed you're also sailing Dec 6...just on a different ship...we actually considered that sailing but decided on the Breeze. To bad, we could have gotten together for a drink.

Thank you! We're vegetarians so we will skip the Steakhouse but we appreciate your ideas! Wehoo only a few days to go! :D:);)
Yeah the Steakhouse definitely wouldn't be a good place for you to check out...LOL
Hope you had a great cruise :)

Canadians here...getting married two days before we leave and then taking a honeymoon cruise on the Carnival Conquest departing June 22, 2014 from Miami. First time for both of us on Carnival so hopefully we will enjoy it. Normally we stick with Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. Balcony on the Lido deck. Yeay! :) It's going to be funny to refer to my partner as my husband! :p
Hey, I forgot to say...but you may already know this...if you go to the steak house for dinner the first night of the cruise (additional charge of $35.00 pp but worth every penny and reservations required) they throw in a bottle of wine no charge...but this is only on the first night. We do this on pretty much every cruise and this year it happens to fall on our actual anniversary :)

Congratulations on your marriage (from another Canadian)! I'm sure you will like Carnival, you can be as active a partier as you want or just find a quiet spot to enjoy being newly weds. Carnival ships seem to be pretty laid back, both passengers and crew and being openly gay never seems to be a problem. I've been on the same class ship you are going on and it's a pretty nice ship. I've only sailed Carnival so don't have anything to compare it to but I think Carnival is pretty great. Have a great vacation! :)

Cruising Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas May 18-25. Anyone else going on that one?

See you in Miami!
Just booked Norwegian Getaway for November 29th, 2014. Will be back in Miami on December 6th.
We can wave across the dock...enjoy your cruise, the Getaway looks like a great ship.

Me and my gf are soooo undecisive! Help! We're looking at the Carnival Splendor 11/01/14, the Carnival Valor 10/12/14 and the Carnival Glory 10/11/14.
Maybe if a couple in this group is sailing on one of these dates, then it would make it easier for us to pick a date.
It sucks being a Libra. And we're both Libra's, so go figure! LOL!
We're not sailing on either of those dates but are on 12/06/14 on the Breeze. We sailed on the Valor before and we loved it. Indecisive is not one of my traits...LOL...if there is enough open to but on the credit card I make a quick decision and it's booked before you know it...and that's not always a good thing either...LOL. Good luck with making a decision :)

Oh la la, a Christmas cruise. That is one of the things I would like to do. I actually wondered if anyone here ever cruised together in the past. It seems like we don't have the same bookings.
We did a cruise at the same time 2 years ago, I got the flu and was really sick so didn't do any tours but really just hung out on the ship...have to say I really enjoyed it...the ship is decorated for Christmas and the whole vibe is different...you really should try one around Christmas one year, you'll have a great time.

We have to wait until Dec 6, 2014 for our next cruise ;)! We're sailing on the Carnival Breeze, can't wait...349 days and counting!

My partner and I will be sailing aboard the Carnival Liberty April 26th thru May 3rd.
We depart Miami and go to Half Moon Cay (voted #1 private island 8 years in a row) Then to St. Thomas, San Juan, and Grand Turk so excited. We are going with our really cool str8 friends and my mom!!!
We Love cruising. LOOK FOR US: KENTUCKY KRUISERS
My partner and I did that cruise last April, it was great! Don't forget the sun screen at Halfmoon Cay...first day out the sun can be a killer. Have a great time.

....add 'Carnival Breeze' to our 2014 Cruise List, we are BOOKED!!!!!
6 Night Caribbean
Key West, FL
Grand Caymen, Caymen Islands
Cozumel, Mexico
May 4 - 10, 2012
We just booked the Breeze too (our Christmas like the Kranks - you gotta watch the movie to get it) :D...but a different date 12/06/14 :(...maybe one day some of us on here will end up on the same ship :)

Another suggestion for Cozumel: book a ship's tour to the Mayan ruins at Tulum. It's a long day (including the ferry to the mainland and a bus ride to the ruins), but I think well worth it if this is the sort of thing you like. Tulum is the only Mayan city built along the water, so the entire setting is stunning. (We don't normally take ship's tours, but this excursion is so long and involves the bus and ferry that I would not take a chance missing the ship by using a private tour operator.)

Tulum is stunning, I went there when I was on vacation in Mexico, I didn't do it as part of a ships tour, it is the most beautiful of all the Mayan ruins in Mexico...I think it would be well worth the extra travel to get there.

My partner and I will be cruising on Carnival Dream on July 6th. Any other LGBT folks out there?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Forums mobile app
We're planning on sailing on the Dream but not until 2015...you'll have to update us on how you like it.

I've been on cruise critic for a few years and just came across this thread on the mobile app. We live in Canada and got married in Feb. We will be on carnival glory July 9. & RC enchantment aug 19.
Congratulations on your marriage...hope you enjoy your cruise on the Glory...we've only sailed Carnival and love it. Where in Canada are you located...as my avatar and screen name suggests...I'm in Toronto...:)

You are sure right about that.
My wedding gift to my wife was a 5 day cruise to Canada which was a week after our wedding cruise. I even got the okay from her boss for that week off, which was a long shot since we would just be off a week for the wedding cruise.
The best part was me giving her the surprise. We were getting dressed on the ship for the wedding and I handed her a card. After she read the card I told her I hope she would love my wedding gift to her and then I pointed out the cabin window. She was like 'what?!?!', I told her in 10 days we would be setting sail again, on that ship. Fate would have it that the ship we were sailing on was docked next to our wedding ship and our cabin window was facing it. It didn't dawn on me that the ship would be there.
She did not see it coming. She was totally shocked.
My soon to be wife reading her card while on the Norwegian Jewel.

That is a beautiful story...congratulations on your marriage and on pulling off the surprise. And the added bonus of having the Glory in port at the exact right time was perfect...hope you enjoyed Canada...I enjoy it every day...lol

My girlfriend and I will be cruising for our first time together on Feb 1st 2014. I have cruised with Disney with my family once before, but this time we will be on RCI Liberty of the Seas, five night Western Caribbean. It is her first ever cruise. I am so excited! She has no idea, her birthday is later this month and I've been making a scrapbook of our room and the trip to surprise her with it. :) Our 3 year anniversary is Feb 2cd, whats better then a day at sea? I cant wait!! Keeping it a secret is so hard!!
Keeping the secret is hard but well worth it...I planned a surprise trip for my partners birthday and she loved it...

I really wish that a) I found this thread sooner and b) it wasn't 94 pages long!!!
My wife and I (we got officially married in Maine in 2006 and legally in DC in 2011) LOVE cruising! I got her hooked in 2010 when I convinced her to try cruising (it was my first time too but I've been wanting to for years) and now we can't stop! We've been on three cruises, with two more planned for this year!
Hi everyone! :D
Hi Jenn, welcome to the board...it's a fun place. My partner and I love cruising too...it does become an addiction. I keep saying when I retire I want to live on a cruise ship...LOL:p
-
Well keep me posted.. I live right outside of Orlando.. and cannot go a year without cruising.. lol
If I lived in Florida I would definately cruise every year too...probably more often if I could..it really is an addiction...lol
-
Well thats a fine excuse for now.. lol We are going to plan for the NCL Epic spring 2014.. so get ready.. lol
Well...I think the plan for 2014 is Orlando and Daytona, then back to Cruising again in 2015...so stay tuned...you never know ;)

my wife and I will be moving to Orlando/ winterhaven area and we will definitely have to all jump on a long weekender together!
Hi, I was just looking through some threads on CC and found this one. I saw that you are cruising April 6th, 2013 on the Liberty, too bad I'll miss you by a hair...LOL...My partner and I will be sailing on the Liberty on the 13th.

As you can see from my closing my partner and I have sailed Carnival a number of times and we've never had a problem. We're very careful in port but anyone really paying attention knows we are together, we don't hide it but don't flaunt it either. On board the ship nobody really pays attention.
I'd love to do an Olivia cruise but can't justify the cost...do you know how many mainstream cruises we can take for the cost of one with them...a few...lol...especially when most mainstream cruises are pretty accepting these days.
Pick your cruise based on locations you want to visit and funds available...forget about others and enjoy. I know it's easier to say that when coming from a place that is open and accepting of the LGBT community but on every ship I've sailed on it's been pretty good. :)
