  1. Our recent sailing was on the Reflection after 6 consecutive sailings on HAL (Neiuw Amsterdam x3, Amsterdam, Westerdam, Eurodam). We felt the food quality and dining options on the Reflection to be far superior than HAL, we like the ability to try different restaurants. We were in a Signature Suite so were able to enjoy all dining venues at no extra charge. We did not dine in the main dining room on Celebrity so can't comment or compare. We also felt that the Reflection was more lively especially at night, while our experience on HAL found that after 10pm most venues were winding down on Reflection that happened after midnight. We do enjoy cocktails and found the variety of beer, wine and spirit selections pale on HAL ships compared to Celebrity. A few things we did not like on Celebrity: the service was good but a nod goes to HAL where we felt it was a step up, the Lawn Club cabanas face inward so there were poor site lines of the ocean and it was not private at all while HAL's Retreat Cabanas felt quiet and secluded while offering nice ocean views. The location of Michael's Club and Luminae for suite guests is not convenient for most suite guests as its located in a completely different area while HAL's Neptune Lounge was conveniently located near the Pinnacle and Neptune suites. Finally, we prefer a king bed which is not standard in most Celebrity suites. We are both in are late 40's and early 50's and while we like the gracious sailing atmosphere of HAL ships we probably wont return for sometime as the energy and atmosphere of Celebrity is more in tune to how we like to enjoy our days and evenings onboard.

  2. Joe:

If you do go back in the future, you can request that they provide you an oversized robe. They always have a selection available. We did this for a relative a few house before the scheduled appointment so it was available to them when they checked in for their massage.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience.

  3. We were on Celebrity's Reflection this month and had an interesting conversation with a member of the staff about the main dining room. Their next build the Edge Class will do away entirely with the main dining room concept and focus entirely on smaller specialty dining venues. Some will be free while others will have a surcharge. The feedback they have received is that the concept of fixed seating is losing its popularity as diners want a variety of reservation times based on their daily activities. For example an afternoon arrival in San Juan with tours may have a passenger request an 830 dinner reservation rather than their typical earlier dining time. He said to picture an all inclusive resort or a larger hotel with multiple dining venues as a reference. Its kind of how we dine now whether we are on HAL or Celebrity, we have a late seating table of 6 or 8 but are there only a few nights at the most. We always have our first meal there and advise our fellow table mates they will be back only a few more times. Its never felt awkward.

  4. They can also make dinner reservations for you and basically act as your liason for anything you need to get done onboard. He or she will provide you a business card with their extension so you can reach out to them as needed.

  5. Deck - 14

    Cabin # - 4109

    Class – Signature Suite

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Bed near(balcony or bath) – no balcony from the bedroom just a floor to ceiling wall of windows overlooking the outdoor tub.

Quiet Cabin : no one can enter the hallway where the 5 Signature Suites and 1 Reflection Suite is located other than the other 5 rooms sharing this hallway. Your hallway can only be accessed with a key card that opens the door to this ultra private hallway.

Balcony View -great sized balcony with one person tube and rain shower. Two nice reclining chairs with ottomans and a dining table. This cabin has a support pillar that cuts of the balcony a bit.

    Was wind a problem? None.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? Not aft.

Any specific problems with this cabin? If you like dark than this room could be a problem, the nightlight from the bathroom is always on and the window from the bathroom to the bedroom can be obscured with a touch of a button but it does not block the light coming in. Also if you have a guest using the couch they must come through the bedroom to use the bathroom. Lack of drawer space in the bedroom require you to put clothes in the drawers next to the mini bar.

Any other comments? Awesome room and location, very private. The 12 foot ceilings really make this room special.

  6. Just stepped off the Reflection today and the Lawn Club was terrific, my ONLY complaint about the S class design is that you feel removed from the ocean in many of the venues. The Lawn Club provides great site lines to the outdoors. We skipped the flat bread pizzas and opted for the salad, main and sides. Here is our take: the NY Strip was excellent and well prepared, the snapper was absolutely delicious and tender. However the shrimp and scallops did not fare well, the scallops were tiny and not flavorful at all. Lunch here is terrific as well with great burgers, including a delicious tuna burger.
