Zest inside the San Juan Water & Beach Club Hotel is excellent. It's not the cheapest place, but the food was Amazing.
Cheaper places that are close: Made In Puerto Rico, Metropol (Cuban/Brazilian) & Mi Casita. I haven't eaten at any of those, but they are in the neighborhood.
For breakfast Bajuice is great - it's inexpensive, the food was good, healthy and the smoothies were incredible. It's very small and easy to miss.

I've done NOLA twice for Halloween. Halloween is not celebrated the week before.
Bourbon Street will be VERY crowded, but not the entire French Quarter.
It's like a mini Mardi Gras, but more fun.
Some of the costumes people wear are creative and hilarious -makes for great picture taking!
It's festive and there are parades in the daytime the day before and on Halloween Day.

Café Manolin is GREAT for mofongo and their prices are reasonable. Lots of locals eat there.
Raices also serves traditional Puerto Rican food.

I would recommend Coquito. It's a creamy coconut liquor that is similar to rum cream. It comes in original and chocolate (saw the chocolate at the airport).
Also, if the person is a rum drinkwe, I would recommend Ron Del Barralito

Thanks so much for your review.
I am seriously thinking of going on the Jewel in November or December.
Were the night spots good (if you went to any), such as for dancing and music?

Guess they don't make an exception for passengers in the cabin who can not drink due to medical reasons?

I was there 2 weeks ago.
They have lounge chairs (not the one in the picture - I didn't see anyone sitting in those kind while I was there) and umbrellas for rental.
I had 2 loungers and 1 umbrella, which was $30.00. For an additonal $10.00, you could also get 2 cocktails and 4 shots, but the drinks aren't worth it because they were weak as hell and tasted like straight sugar.

Everyone gets assigned a Latitudes Number for their first booking, however their Member Status is "Prospect" until:
1.) Completion of their first sailing, and;
2.) Logging into the website and confirming, or calling NCL to confirm.
Once "confirmed" the status will change to Bronze, or whichever status has been attained after that first sailing.
Members who have completed their first cruise and confirmed their membership will then receive invitations in their stateroom, for the appropriate gatherings based upon their Latitudes level.
Hope that helps. ;)
It's very helpful - thanks!

I have a question also: I will be cruising in November on the Sky for the 1st time. On NCL's website, they gave me a Latitudes number.
Would I be allowed to attend a cocktail party even though it's the first time on NCL?

Thanks so much your your review and pictures!
I enojoyed them very much.

I am definitely following this thread.
I will be on the Sky in November.
It's my first cruise - can't wait!
I am disappointed to hear that the drinks are weak.
I like to drink when I am on vacation, but hate wasting extra calories, lol.
What's a good place to have dinner?

Aguaviva (means jellyfish in Spanish) is in OSJ and has great food in an upscale but not stuffy atmosphere.
The drinks are also great, especially the coconut mojito and the drinks are handcrafted.
