  1. We have done this itinerary before. We are not SCUBA divers but love the beach. Seven Mile in Grand Cayman is fantastic. We also like Doctor's Cave in Jamaica although the vendors can be pushy. In Cozumel we have done noth Mr Sancho's and Nachi Cocum. Both are great. Nachi is all inclusive and small crowds. Me Sancho's has not AI and pay as you go. Beach is the same both places. Enjoy!

We are on the Dream in Match but go to Roatan Belize and Coz. This is also a great itinerary. West End beach in Roatan had the best beach snorkeling I have seen.

    Enjoy!

  2. We are booked for a NOLA cruise in March 2016. I went to my booking and have already done my on-line check in, but have not made final payment yet. I was able to select a time slot for check in, which shows up in my cruise details on my on-line booking information with Carnival. Am I good for the check in time slot selected, or do I have to make final payment before I can lock in for my selected time? When I tried to print the boarding pass, it indicated reservation must be paid in full to receive boarding pass. My Booking Summary document says "Boarding Time 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM". This is not the time I selected for our check in time. Are the "Check In" and "Boarding Time" the same thing? We typically like to get to the terminal and on-board as quickly as possible. We really don't mind waiting in the terminal......everyone is usually in a good mood and it makes for good people watching!

  3. Is this the local favorite in Belize? What other local beers are readily available at the port? I like to try to drink a few of the local favorites while in port.

  4. We have stayed at this Hampton the past two years prior to cruising out of New Orleans, and are booked again for this Saturday. This is a very nice Hampton. It is very convenient to the cruise terminal. As others have mentioned, it is in a renovated warehouse and is very nice. There is a full bar and large lobby/common area. We had a suite type room the first year we stayed which had two queen beds in one room and a separate living room with small kitchenette. It was very spacious and nice. Last year, we were in a standard room and did have some issues with the shower and noise. My wife mentioned this with the front desk as we were checking out, and they said they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. They later sent us a voucher for a free night at any Hampton hotel which was very nice but not expected. Needless to say, we are going back again this weekend prior to a spring break cruise.

If you like the Hampton chain, you will love this hotel.

  5. My DS, a basketball fanatic, would like me to confirm that the Final Four will be shown on the Carnival Victory. I assume because it is on CBS that he would at least be able to watch in the room, but will it also be shown on the big screen or somewhere else fun? When I searched I couldn't find any accounts from people on the Victory, so he wants me to ask just to make sure.

I'm sure the games will be on. They usually show them on the big screen. This was a huge concern for my son and myself last year. Sadly, it doesn't look like I will have a dog in the fight this year unless a miracle happens in the Big 10 tournament.

  6. In our 4 times to Roatan we found that it is difficult to see it all in one trip. One Bodden tour we covered the area from a little I think east of Coxen Hole and then to West End and West Bay. We do not zip and did not have a need to see the monkeys, just concentrated on seeing the island. On that trip we had lunch at Half Moon Bay resort where you dine outside right by the water . I recall the catch of the day being the best fish we ever ate.. Next trip we toured the untraveled east end, did a mangrove tunnel tour, etc. Last time we hired a driver through a friend of mine @ Coxen and just went to West Bay beach and rented chairs and shade at Argentine grill pay as you go...On March 19 we will dock @ Mahogany and are going to Turquoise bay resort for the first time hoping for a laid back quiet experience..They pick you up and return you for $25 PP and no entrance fee..There are great photo ops in Roatan as it is very hilly like Jamaica, very friendy people..If you like beer get your driver to stop at a convenience store for $1 Port Royal beer, ummm..Hope you enjoy Roatan. I bet you will return..

We are scheduled to be in Roatan the week after you and have booked the private tour with Victor Bodden. We dock at Mahogany Bay, so I hope we can make it to the pier. Hopefully the boat can make it in. We were planning to go to West Bay as we are not interested in the monkeys or ziplines. The entire family really enjoys the beach. I am also interested in drinking a few of the local beers. My questions:

    1. With Bodden, can he stop and pick up waters and beers for the day?

    2. How much extra cash should we bring if all we really want to do is relax on the beach, maybe snack a little, have a few beers, and snorkel. We have our own gear. We will want to rent a couple chairs.

    3. How much beach time will we have if we get off the boat fairly quickly after it arrives?

    4. How long is the drive to West Bay?

    5. What is at West End?

    6. Are there any other "must sees' in Roatan? Again, we really enjoy the beach and want to spend as much time there as possible.

    7. How does West Bay compare to Seven Mile on Grand Cayman? Dr's Cave in Jamaica? I understand there will be vendors as there are at Dr's Cave.

Any advice or comments are appreciated.

  7. Port Royal is a Honduran beer and it might be the best beer in the world.

I'll definitely have to try it out. We ended up booking with Victor Bodden and plan to go to West Beach. Hopefully nice weather and plenty of beach time and a bucket of beers!

I was IU class of '87. Hopefully basketball will be strong again. Went to the Navy game yesterday.....defense was an embarrassment.
