I don't think we will ever get the loyalty OBC - even the lowest level. I believe it starts on your 21st cruise. We are sooooooooooooo far from that level! We will make Elite after our upcoming cruise. That will give us 13 cruises and 154 days. We have our first cruise as Elite 4 days after that one. A very long way from 21 cruises.
What is the loyalty credit? I have never heard of this one.

Hi Deb, Yes....Definitely
Off the topic, I know. But a fellow Nanaimoite?? We live in north Nanaimo, near Lost Lake Road. Hope we meet up some time.

Hope you had fun! We often travel with a guaranteed cabin, sometimes we don't know the cabin number until we check in! We were told that as long as we were on the big boat, not the life boat, we were OK! And we were!

It would sure help the packing if princess would advertise the theme nights

I agree I with this wholeheartedly. I see as much sloppy clothing and grooming among younger people as I do among older. One can be trendy and still be tacky, but classic elegance never goes out of style, no matter what one's age. The key to looking great as one ages is to be current, but not trendy (avoid extremes).
Love that saying. Oh, so true. I whole heartedly agree that casual elegance never goes out of style. In fact, IMHO simple lines are usually most flattering. Try to keep hair and makeup current. Get that manicure. Good grooming is key to a classy appearance.

I don't know if I should really bump this controversial thread up to the top, but I wish a lot of you ladies knew that threads like these make me nervous about going on my first cruise.
I was also pretty nervous on my first cruise, and packed a lot of stuff for those "dressy" nights. We now cruise on Princess, and they seem pretty casual these days. And I pack a lot less. Dressy pants (black), a couple of dressy tops and a nice wrap and dressy shoes(black sandals ) with a narrow but not too high heel and some sparkly earrings. I find it too darn cold in the dining rooms for any of my cute cocktail dresses, and I only see a few formal gowns these days, mostly on older women, dripping in jewels. We have been on several cruises, and they seem more casual all the time. The most experienced cruisers often travel with carry on bags only, and that limits their formal attire as well. Some just rent it on board. No fuss, no muss. I suppose if I were invited to dine with the captain, I would consider renting. Not likely to happen! Don't stress. Just have fun!

Thank you for posting your travel list. I am impressed that you got everything to fit. We are off to Europe this summer on a tour then cruise. I will try your system.

Count me in on that one. We are surrounded by dog hair, too. It does complete the outfit in ways designers never thought of!

Maybe you can........
That was my point: Off the rack clothes aren't comfortable and flattering for everyone, and so some of us are content to dress acceptably and nicely, while not worrying about impressing people with the way we dress. If a woman isn't the shape and size of what's available, or doesn't look good in the colours that are out this season, or who doesn't like the feel or function of the fabric that is "in" this year, there's not much they can do. Count yourself lucky if you like and fit into commercially available clothes year after year. I get every pair of pants I wear significantly altered so they'll fit, often paying more for the alterations than I do for the pants themselves. I have yet to find dresses that fit my shape properly, and finding tops, either shirts or t-shirts, that are flattering and fit well is almost impossible (though I can often find the latter without the former). I'd get them altered too, except I'm already paying so much to get my basic chinos altered (though I am pleased as punch to find a seamstress who can actually do it, at any price).
One size never fits all, and for those of us who don't have off-the-rack bodies, dressing in properly fitting and flattering clothes can get very, very expensive.
I am another person who needs clothing alterations because off the rack clothes never fit! And it is truly difficult to find a good tailor. I think the key is to have very little, but love what you have. I have given up on dresses and now only have skirts and tops. Well fitting pants are almost impossible to find. I usually buy classic clothes and have them altered. I also keep them for years. That helps to offset the cost.

I m with u on that last extraordinary comment

I also like to dress "nice". I dont care if others are impressed or not. I feel better when I look good. And I think you are treated more nicely if you are well groomed and well dressed.
-
I respect your feelings on the subject. Good for you for standing up for what you believe in.

I'm with you 100%.:)
I am totally with you too! It is very possible to be comfortable and well dressed. I dont leave the house (or ship cabin) without makeup and a thought to putting myself together presentably. I do this for me because it makes me feel great. I dont "dress to impress" others, but it is nice when I get compliments on my appearance.

Ditto for that one! I dress to feel great. That means looking presentable and feeling comfortable.
