  1. Thank you one and all!!lol Looks like a walking tour of our own! No problem for us as we don't know if our dd the dancer will be able to go with us.

Think we'll walk over to take pictures, walk through the market place, see Charleston Place and then maybe hit Husk.

Do any of you think we will need to make a reservation there? Do you have another place in mind that maybe you like?

    Thanks again,

    Michelle

  2. Chucktownsteve:

Looks like I've got to ask a question here.

I wanted to do a culinary tour but the only one I see that is available on the day we are there 2/27 starts at 9:30. Might be a bit early for us.

I was looking at different restaurants to try one was called Husk another was Leon's Oyster Shop. I'm not sure where we dock and if they are even close to each other that we could try them both.

We would also like to see the pineapple at the Waterfront Park, the Charleston Place (Belmond) we stayed there 10 yrs ago and maybe walk around the City Market.

Are all these things possible by walking or should we Uber to a few?

Thank in advance for your help. We may be limited on time due to the fact that our daughter is one of the dancers on board the Grandeur and may not get off early or need to be back sooner than most.

  3. Thanks for getting back to me. I've only seen the tours with Viator but I'll look into Charleston Culinary Tours and see what they have.

Is downtown Charleston near the pier? About how far away do you think it is?

The mixology tour is not being given the day we are there or that's the ones we might have chosen!!!

How's the weather that time of year? Another thing to think about.

  4. Good Afternoon,

We will be in Charleston on 2/27 and want to take a tour using Viator. I believe I read on a thread that their tours were pretty good and less than RCCL which only has a few tours.

My husband and I were thinking of doing one of the culinary tours. Not sure which one but they both seem to be about the same price.

Our DD may want to do one of the Ghost tours and again not sure which one.

    Do you have any suggestions?

I believe my DM and her BF may do a carriage tour and from what I read she should look for Palmetto Carriage Co and ask for a discount.

    Thanks for you help!

  5. In need of a little clarification on how to get to and come back from Blue Kay. If I read correctly I can take one of those people movers up to Senor Frogs and then I have to walk over to Blue Kay? Is this correct? I believe I read this on Mitsygirls page.

Thanks for the help, we will be 3 women.

  6. I know that the Carlos n Charlies that was in town is now Senor Frogs are owned by the same people. What I need to know is if we can go to the one towards the right of the pier grab a drink and something to eat then sit on the beach right there. Is there a cost cause that's what I'm trying to avoid? I do believe its just a short taxi ride there and we are 6 adults.

  7. The last time I was in Cozumel we went to Carlos and Charlies to the left of the pier we docked at on Royal Caribbean. This time we are cruising with Disney and I'm not sure if we dock at the same place or not.

I hear that the Carlos and Charlies we went to is no longer there but there is one to the right when you exit the pier area and it's on the Beach! That would be great to have a drink and something to eat then just sit at the beach right there. Don't really want to stay too long, maybe an hr or 2 then head back to the ship.

Can anyone help clear this up for me? Thank so much!

  8. Unless we are wrong in "assuming" they are sailing from Miami...a cab to Ft. Lauderdale is quite a bit more than $20 & a 15 min. ride...the devil is in the details...;)

We are sailing out of Miami.

But, I'm type A personality and like to have my ducks in a row! hahah

I do like to have a few options since like I've stated I've never had to think about this. Also, I can't remember the last time I flew in the day of the cruise. I usually get there a day before in case of unforeseen things.

  9. I would use a taxi. No waiting for the cruise shuttle to fill.

    Thanks for the quick reply..

I didn't know the cruise line had a shuttle...think I would with a few cruises under my belt, but like I said family was always there.

Approx how much can I expect to pay? Would it be with to book a car service?

    Who would I turn to?

  10. so I've never done this before but I know need to know how you get from the Miami International Airport to the port for my upcoming cruise in May. I've been really lucky in the past and have had family members pick me up and take me but this time no one is around.

What's the best way to get from the airport to the terminal? Taxi? Limo?

I need to say that I am traveling alone so I really don't want to take the bus, if there is one. I need reliable service. I only need this one way!

    Thanks so much....

  11. It depends. On the trans-Atlantics' date=' DCL did exclusive tastings just for our group. This had no impact on the general guest tasting groups.

No way to predict whether you'll be able to get an opening on board regardless of whether they do a dedicated group for FB or not. Book now to assure your spot or wait till boarding and take your chances.[/quote']

I'm sorry I didn't realize I could book before boarding. do I book at my 90 day out time?

  12. Well, I have joined a FB page for the cruise I'm on and I've noticed that a lot of the adults are trying to book a mixology class together. While I think that's great I'm not sure whether my small group of 6 would want to think about this at this time.

Since we only have 2 days at sea and the classes are held at 2 & 4 and I'm seeing many ppl from FB signing up on their page I'm wondering if I would be able to register when I board or if they would've taken all the spots and I need to join them.

Does Disney hold exclusive classes maybe for this group? Or are we not going to be able to do this class because the FB group would've taken all the spots for the 2 days?

    Any thoughts....

  13. So I've been reading and asking, Where do I sign up for the mixology/tasting events when boarding? I'm getting 2 different reviews. I know it could be different on each sailing.

I'm either going to GS or up to the adult area in one of the bars for signing up for these events.

Sound like I may have to send half our group one way and the other in the other direction and keep in touch thru cell phones.

    right?

  14. We will be sailing in Oct 2015.

I thought I remembered from other cruises that there were things we could do as adults like Whiskey tasting or wine tasting but I don't remember. Also, when can I sign up for these things?

Besides the spa, I would like other things to plan during sea days.

    Thanks for the help!

Day two: Production show (in Air) 9pm and 1045 pm

    Captain's welcome reception 7:30-8:30pm

Day three: (Belize) Headliner show 7pm and 9 pm

    Day four:(Cozumel)Variety Show 7:45 pm

Day five: Saturday Night Fever - 7pm and 9:30pm

    Enjoy your cruise!

    Were you in Europe?

  16. We are going to Belize on the Liberty in Dec. A few ??'s.

How long does it take to get from the ship to the port? We have an excursion booked with BZ. and have been asked to be 1 of the 1st to disembark. I know that RCCL excursion will be 1st to leave.

Does anyone know the exact times of the shows? we have my time dining and I want to be sure we catch the shows.

    Thanks

  17. Check out ShoreTrips. We have used Shore Trips to book our excursion with for years, many times at half the price. Never had a problem even when it did not work out, were able to get refund.

    Bob

Hi Bob, We are going to Belize in Dec. Our 1st time. Shore Trips sounds great. Have you done the Goff's Caye Snorkel Trip? Just wondering if you thought it was worth the money.
