I was on March 9-19 in cabin 9516. I was very worried after reading so much about the odor. Our room was fine, not a whiff. I too walked the hallways quite a bit and didn't notice it at all. I did notice it twice, once in a public bathroom, near the ice rink I believe, and once near the main pool area. Both times I noticed it it was so fleeting, as soon as I thought 'oh my gosh, there's that smell!' it was gone. We loved the ship. The staff was wonderful and all the areas I thought very well maintained. I was also concerned that it was going to be in really rough shape, but didn't find that to be the case. Yes, some of it is dated, but really it is very nice.

I got off on the 19th and was at the opposite end in 9516. I did walk the entire length several times and never smelled a thing. I only noticed the smell twice. Both times it was in public areas and both times it was gone as soon as I noticed it. I read a lot on here about the condition of the ship and of course the smell and was quite worried. I thought the ship was in great shape.

Of course I wasn't in your cabin, but as far as odor in that area, and condition of the ship, it was fine!

Every morning after I drop my 3 sons at school at 6:50, I would grab my coffee, light the woodstove and grab a few blissful moments that would normally involve the Today show. Now, all of the above but instead of turning on the morning news, I tune into you and your great blog! I am cruising on the Explorer in March, and have so appreciated all your details. Who knew vacation anticipation could be so enjoyable? I especially have been enjoying, and gathering inspiration from, your gym experiences. Thank you so much for taking the time to write and include all of us on your vacation! You really have succeeded in taking us aboard!
