1. CC has come full circle from the port where she was built to the port where she will be taken apart. Kind of sad in a way. :(

    Sad for the ship, tragic for the people who died and their families. All for the vainity and stupidity of one man.

    Various CC stories on the Daily Mail website including the Captain at a posh party while his ship was being taken away to the breakers yard:

    So hope the final remains are found.

  2. Congratulations to Titan and everyone involved in the work of getting Concordia upright, here is a link with some great pictures.

    Thanks, great photos and I'm very impressed with how well the basic structure of the ship has survived. As someone posted a few pages back, it looks like balconies and walkways which are crushed - the lines of the doors and windows look fairly continuous.

    I hope the designers and builders are proud of their work which sadly took one stupid man a few seconds to destroy.

    <edit>

    Giglio will be a very quiet place once she has finally been towed away.

  3.
I understand there is only some 30 cm tidal difference at Giglio? Couldn't quickly find any proper source to confirm, though. But if true it will be difficult to see such a small difference on the slowly moving CC.
That seems to be the maximum at Livorno:
