  1. The way to look at it, pretty much any device that is considered a "heating" appliance, will be taken away at security and given back the morning of disembarkation.

Makes no difference if it is carry-on or packed with regular luggage. It has to go thru an x-ray machine. Some people luck out but MOST don't.

  2. How dare you post photos of deserts from other Carnival Ships. YOU were not on the Splendor on Jan.29, 2012.

I am only complaining about the problems on the Splendor on Jan.29th.

The Splendor used to have wonderful deserts and foods that I truly enjoyed but times have changed and people have to be aware of those problems. They may be minor problems but still serious enough to make people sick on an expensive cruise. I paid $997. FOR SOLO ME. There is no way that I would want to get sick on spoiled food.

Making fun of me is not the way to treat a loyal member of cruise critic.

We are all here to help eachother. I am glad for all of the information I learn here on cruise critic. I also try to be helpful to others here. LucyR.

    LucyR,

Take my advice, just let it go. We both were on the Splendor on the Jan 29th sailing and we both have been on the Splendor before so we have prior experiences on the same vessel to compare with. Just let it be at that. Thanks.

  3. LucyR,

Do not let the "attack dogs" on here get to you. You voiced your opinion/your experience and that is just fine.

As for reviews/comments about ANYTHING (not just cruising) I have always looked at it that if there is a pattern of bad reviews/complaints about any one sector, than in all probability those complaints are well founded. As an example, on our recent 28-day Panama Canal cruise aboard the Holland America "Statendam", we read many rave reviews about the ship and/or HAL reknowned service. The only common complaint seemed to be air-conditioning/plumbing issues and sure enough, we experienced both problems in our stateroom.

The difference is how the cruiselines handle legitimate complaints. With Holland America, the Hotel Manager on board got involved with our issue from Day 1 and immediately resolved the issue to our complete satisfaction. On the Splendor last week, it took us 3 days to set up a meeting with the Hotel Director, Duncan Puttock, that's like half-way thru the cruise and up till the last night, the issues we brought up were not even close to being resolved.
