  1. You can also do it in the casino, no fees charged. I've done it both at Guest Relations and he Casino with no problems. However, if I want to cash a larger amount (usually more than $200) I wait to do it in the casino knowing they have the cash available. A couple of times on the Star and the Dawn the Guest Relations desk had to gather enough funds for my $100 cheque.

  2. We, too, wondered how the staff felt about fielding these requests before passengers board, so we asked Juremar, our butler. He agreed that it makes embarkation day easier and knowing passengers' preferences was a plus.

We just had Juremar on the Sun last week, such a great butler!

In regards to the pre-consierge, I have always called with requests (like pillows, fridge cleared if we are not in an OS, bucket of beer etc) if it gets done before I get there great, if not I just ask when I get on ship. I figure I have a million things I am doing before I get on board that if I do request it beforehand or when I remember it just makes it easier for me to not ask for a 'million' things from the Consierge, Butler or Steward who are busy as anything on embarkartion day :)

  3. The Sun has 2 butlers for 20 suites. How did they feel that was limited? Just curious as I am a Sun suite cruiser too.

At the time my mom had a lot of health issues and needed certain things. They just felt that they didn't see their butler very often. Of course this was in 2006 and it could have been the butlers itself as well.

Was just curious how the service was recently. We like to use our butler while some may not.

  4. We'll be in an aft penthouse on Jan 1.

Glad to see there were only 'minor' inconveniences :)

How was the butler services? My parents (who will also be in an aft penthouse) had the cabin I will be in back in 2006 and there were limited butlers, so just curious (and so are my parents) :)

    Thanks!

  5. Has anyone been in a Suite recently that can say what the butler service has been like? The last time my parents were on the Sun, there were limited butlers for the ship in 2006.

Just wondering if anything has changed.

    Thanks! :)

  6. I love this thread!

We are sailing on the Dawn on January 20 in the Owner's Suite

I called last week and spoke to Adrienne about setting up some things for us.

Picked our pillows, extra towels, requested a bucket of beer for DH (thanks for that suggestion OP!), requested the type of mixers for the fridge and requested some items for a sailaway party we are throwing in our cabin.

We were able to purchase wine for this (was a Bon Voyage purchase) but was able to make this purchase through Adrienne.

I have a feeling she was new though as she had to put me on hold a few times to ask someone for an answer to my questions.

Called back yesterday and spoke to Darius to pre-book Teppanyaki.

We'll see how it goes for doing this all ahead of time. I know last year on the Star, my mom did a small sailaway party in the Owner's Suite and our Butler, Lucky, took great care of us and my mom's requests.
