We were on the Scenic Opal on Aug. 20th and I can tell you that this ship did not get through. We were on the Opal for 4 days, given a long bus ride into a town and another long bus ride to transfer to the Ruby. We were on the Ruby for two nights and then transferred to the Amber for the remainder of our trip. Our trip was very hectic and tiring. We were looking forward to a leisurely vacation (as advertised). It did not happen. Strange information from your travel agent?
That's my biggest fear - constantly packing and unpacking my cabin!!! I'm not thrilled about the bus rides either so the combination certainly does have a negative impact on the overall vacation experience.

Cancob and daleyecs, I would suggest you monitor the Scenic low water level thread. You will get more specific information about how Scenic is handling these matters. The sentences you quote above have been on their website for over a month. I understand it is stressful as you don't know what will happen. I did not know about a change in ship until the day before embarkation and we had two hour notice to get back on the ship in Regensberg because they were immediately sailing to Passau. There is NO WAY they know what the status is for a September 20 sailing. Don't expect Scenic's communication to be good, because it's simply not. Good luck with your trips.
Thanks, am following that thread tool. The site update I referenced was the specific sailing date I'm on was now being listed as a potential impact; we got our emails yesterday :-( still trying to remain optimistic

We are on the Scenic Amber scheduled to leave Nuremberg on Sept 20 and sail to Budapest. Any news about similar trips would be welcome. Thanks.
We're on the ship too - or at least we hope to be ! This is today's view on their website - doesn't look promising
The Danube River is currently experiencing low water levels. Guests will be contacted individually if deviations from the standard itinerary become necessary. The following cruises may be affected:
Gems of the Danube: September 20, 2018
Jewels of Europe: September 12 & 17, 2018

We'll be on the same cruise, it may or may not be the Amber. River levels are low but passable as of this week. The Jasper and Crystal made it through past Regensburg from Passau. Keep up the rain dancing! See you on board!
Fantastic ! See you on board

Anyone have any news on the Danube levels ? We're heading to Prague on 9/16 for a 3 day stay before boarding the Scenic Amber in Nuremberg heading to Budapest.

Thanks to posters with the updates on the Danube sailings - staying optimistic for our mid Sept cruise Nuremberg to Budapest

On Scenic Amber mid Sept - hoping for lots of rain between now and then :-) but feeling sad for the folks who are being impacted by the low water levels now.

We were supposed to board the Amber in Nuremberg on 9/20 heading to Budapest - instead we boarded the Jasper stayed overnight in Nuremberg but only sailed into the next port and are now stuck in Regensburg :( we stayed here overnight - no ship swap available for us
Current offer is to chose to fly home from Munich or stay for a bus / hotel option - neither is appealing, limited compensation on the table if you stay - twice as much if you leave but still not a generous offer - $ depends on your room category
