  1. We disembarked and went checking out options to get to the Old Town. There was a shuttle bus service for 8 euro pp return. Taxis were 10 euro one way. We had 6 of us so the taxis were actually cheaper and gave us more flexibility. We grabbed a taxi and were on our way.

Crusinskier - is the shuttle you mention run by Carnival? I assume both the shuttle and taxi accept euros? Thanks for all the info, it is really a big help.

  2. Does anyone know if the private tour companies are able to meet their passengers right at the ship in Civitaveccha for a Rome tour vs outside the port gate. I have read that you have to ride a shuttle bus to the port gate. They will not allow you to walk, but I was wondering if tour companies are allowed to enter the port area and then you would not have to ride the shuttle bus.

  3. Dubrovniktravelady, forgive me if this question has been asked before, but trying to find it in the many pages of this thread is overwhelming. I am a little confused about the wall and walking it. I understand there are about 3 entrances and you walk counterclockwise once you are on the wall, but what about exits into Old Town if you do not want to walk the entire wall? Are the entrances and exits the same? If that is true which is the easiest walk? Entering at Pile and exiting at Ploce or entering at Ploce and exiting at Pile. Which has the best views? Thanks for your great information and patience.

  4. While walking around in the back streets of Venice, we found this cute shop that makes the famed masks. This wasn't a "tourist shop", but a source for the "real thing".:

Hi Terry in Ohio, wonderful pictures, thanks for sharing. Do you remember where this mask shop was. I am most interested in getting one of these masks from a non tourist shop when we visit next June.
