Hours are 8AM -10PM , When you go into the spa area ,They have a desk there , You give them your Sail Sign card , They verify you are in a spa cabin or you have paid to use the spa , They will then keep your SS card and give you a white card which will open the different doors in the spa area

     

     

     

    While we have experienced this on other Carnival ships with Cloud 9, not so on Magic. You will use your sail and sign card to open the door to the T-pool or the door to the thermal rooms and steam rooms.

  2. We were on the same cruise as well. We had 5 Spa deck balconies in a row on deck 12, sailing with some of our best friends and family. Our steward opened all of the balcony connectors for us so we had one big balcony to share.

     

    I thought Mat was the best cruise director we have had in 9 cruises with Carnival. Had a chance to talk to him at the Mardis Gras party and he is a really nice guy.

     

    Funniest joke I heard all week was in the comedy club first night. Goes like this. Have you met your cruise director Mat yet? Yeah, he's actually not gay......but his boyfriend sure is. In fact, if you cut him, he bleeds glitter.

  3. There's always best practices to proactively set in place.

    1) print boarding passes for each passenger (that's a given). Printed Luggage tags should already be attached to all bags, checked and carry on (another given). It's also a great idea to fill out the pre-boarding public health questionnaire, per person in ink, which gives the impression that it was just filled out that day (form is pertinent to which country you embark from) and sign & date it in the presence of the counter agent.

    2) Security: print out cruise line's policy on all beverages (including wine, champagne, 12 packs of soda). Also, print out the list of Carnival's Prohibited Items AND Carnival's Additional Prohibited Items, Exemptions and other considerations. This way, if there is a situation, you have the proof of what can be brought on to the ship because it wasn't otherwise listed.

    3) For on the ship: Any purchases that you made prior to the trip ie. liquor, beer or soda for your stateroom, have a printout of the email showing confirmation of said purchase(s). Applies to bubbles and Cheers program purchase. Computers could go down on ship & this is your proof. Also, the crew may not have reached your room yet in fulfilling your order once you've reached your room.

    4) Also, for on the ship: On shore excursions purchased through the ship prior to sail date detailing the specific excursion. Have a printout of the email showing confirmation of said purchase(s) for the same reason listed above.

    4) Finally, for on the ship: Prepaid tips - print the email from your travel agent or Carnival's booking rep that that has been paid. Showing the charge(s) from your credit card or bank activity is a good idea since the confirmation shows no detail of specifics. Of course that amount goes into your sign & sail account, which you can access from your stateroom's tv at any time, but you want to address any duplicate charges right away and not when you return home.

     

    Place all printed items in a manila folder or 9X12 office envelope and have in your hand when going through security.

     

    You may not need to use any of these printouts, but it's better to have and not need than to need and not have.

     

     

     

    That is way too much paper to carry. Drop all that into OneNote and have it on your phone if you think it is important.

  4. The hostess has all the menus for the cruise in a large binder. Ask to see it. Lots easier than anything electronic.

    This is the most laughable thing I have read in a long time. I would love to hear you explain how walking to the dining room to leaf through a binder (after you find someone to grant you access) is easier than looking up menus on your phone or tablet wherever and whenever you wish.

     

    Do you also still prefer a printed newspaper and clipping actual paper coupons?

  5. If you can afford it, treat yourself. On our last cruise, we did a balcony for the first time, and I am afraid I will never be able to go back to interior. Yes, the experience on the rest of the ship is the same, but sleeping on the balcony one night was absolutely the highlight of our vacation for me. Worth the cost for that alone. Most importantly, whatever you decide, enjoy your cruise.

  6. We were on the Conquest the week of Thanksgiving. Gym never opened before 6 am. We waited outside the door every morning. It was never later than 6:05, just not opened early as someone else experienced. There was never a wait for a treadmill, and only once did someone have to wait for a stationary bike (they had 6).

     

    Since another poster owned up, I will too. On the 7 day cruise I only skipped the gym one day. I swam in the pool every day. I walked at least 5 miles on every island. We snorkeled on 2. After all that, I still gained 6 pounds. %#%}^ Guys burgers!
