  1. Our experience on several cruises: Modenos would be my first choice for meat and the awesome salad bar. We also love Le Bistro more than Cagney's but this is just a personal opinion. They are all good.

This. We much prefer Le Bistro over Cagneys. But if you want endless succulent meats....Moderno is the answer.

  2. We had 9316 on the Breakaway - and had no soot issues at all. Probably because a lot of the balcony space is covered. LOVED the cabin so much we booked the same one on the Getaway for February 2015 and the Escape for 2016! ;) :D

Here is a link to my fb photos of our cabin on the Breakaway - if you're interested. You do not need a fb account to see the photos.

  3. Hi all....I just booked the last aft Haven Penthouse suite on the Getaway sailing 8/30/14. I'm a bit concerned about what I'm hearing that there appears to be more soot than typical for these ships. We're on deck 9.

Can those of you that have sailed on these ships in the aft balcony rooms chime in on your experience regarding this?

    Thanks.

  4. Not to forget the fabulous "fruits de mer" they have in Le Bistro - I am NOT a seafood person, but that dish just taste fantastic!

I realize that I have more than one favorite dish at Le Bistro.... ;)

O M G......I totally forgot about this dish and now I'm craving it. I have to wait 19 weeks.....ugh.

  5. Hi there!

I have to tell you that this is one of the best reviews I have read on here for quite some time! I don't normally post as you can see from the number of posts as I don't have much to say unless it's deemed important.

My folks, partner and I are sailing on the Star on 1-13 and to have this timely review available a week prior has done nothing but put me in "vacation mode" a week early. LOL

I'm very excited as this is our first time in the Owner's Suite and my folks will be in the adjoining penthouse suite.

I'm liable to be dragged off the ship kicking and screaming on the 20th. So watch the news in New Orleans that day - you''ll likely see my mug shot. LOL Anyhoo - thank you for all of your insights, suggestions, feedback and most of all the photos!
