  1. We did this tour last year with Capt. Bob and loved it so much we booked it again and went on it last week. While we didn't have Capt. Bob this time, we really enjoyed our day with Ty. We preferred this year's day a little better since the new restaurant served better food (IMHO) and we enjoyed the beautiful beach it was located on (I think Case beach). We were lucky enough to have dolphins just 15 feet away from our boat at the rock. We didn't see any of the really big planes take off or land but did see a few smaller ones land. And the "surprise" wasn't there this year due to a big barracuda that was in the area. We got back to the dock at 4:02 and Ty even retrieved my husband's sunglasses that he dropped in the water. We were back on the ship by 4:20. I wouldn't worry about not having Capt. Bob in your boat (we did see him a few times during the day though) and also don't fret about getting back to your ship. One customer missing their sail away would most likely put Capt. Bob out of business--and he knows this. I have a strong feeling that I'll be seeing Capt. Bob again next year too.

I was on the excursion with Ty in Feb. What is the

surprise that a few reviewers mentioned?

  2. We are advised my the day sail company to book a taxi he recommended as it could get busy at port during spring break. We are arriving by NCL Epic at 8 am and need to be at Sapphire Marina by 9.

I prefer the idea of walking out the port and taking taxi as I can have control of my time. I can look around port area or just head to sapphire Marina early without trying to wait for scheduled time. Will there be long lines or wait for taxi?

Just returned from cruise. Went with daysail out of sapphire marina.Taxis waiting as you get off ship,$10pp{gov. reg}Grab taxi right away,Trini ,our driver made it to marina in 20 min& was waiting for us @3:30 after our excursion{we did not pay ahead for return trip}. Our excursion was @0900-1530. Return trip to ship takes longer because of schools letting out& beginning of "rush hour "traffic".

  3. Did the speedboat excursion with Capt.Bob's "son" Tyrel. It was a blast! Excursion $99; ocean air, snorkeling, eating, drinking with Souliga- priceless!

Look for my review on Tripadvisor in a day or 2. Judy

  4. Hi everyone,

    Greetings from Canada.

My girlfriend and I are taking the train from Anchorage to Seward on Friday and arriving at 11:05 AM.

What are the different ways to get from the train station to the port where the Cruise ships depart from? Is there still a 5.00$ shuttle going from the train station to the port?

    Thank you for your time.

    Mart and Mandy

We walked to the port after visiting Exit Glacier
