  1. Hello! Heading onto Oasis next week and question about dining--since we are lucky enough to have CK, do we need to ever go to the MDR? I'm hoping to avoid windjammer, but the kids sometimes enjoyed the fun with the wait staff and dressing up a bit. Do we get that same treatment in CK? Do you think there are any meals or menu items that are so worth going to MDR? We don't usually do specialty but if we do it will be Giovanni's to sit outside and listen to music and good eating. Any advice is appreciated!!

  2. Has anyone ever done the day pass at the Marriott St. Kitts? If so - how much and did you like the beach. Thank you

We did and absolutely loved it. One of my most favorite port days. The taxi ride was easy and the beach was amazing. The water is a bit rough--tons of fun and wave jumping, but not bathtub like other islands/beaches. We had a lite lunch and i remember it being expensive, but for the towels, great pool and amazing beach--was well worth it. I believe it was $30/per person. Taxi was $3/per person I believe.

  3. [Yes we are on the April 9th sailing! So excited. But need to look into more space for our next trip. I love the suite perks but these Star perks sound amazing. I didn't even price out the bigger rooms--our TA knows we fit in a Grand so just puts us there. I wonder what the actual price difference is to have some more space. I'll have to check on board for a future sailing. Thanks, All.

  4. I'm loving these comments but feeling very sad that I'm a lowly grand suite/sky class! Normally on other class ships the suites are all treated the same, but watching the star class float by me will be hard! And make me book UP next time! Anyway, question for you--I have three kids as well but was told the Aqua Theater doesn't hold 5 people? Which room is your room for your 3 kids? I tried to upgrade for a month after we booked but everyone we talked to said our issue was the 5 people which seems crazy since the other rooms are so much bigger than our Grand Suite. Argh!! Anyway, thanks, sailing on Oasis in 2 weeks!!

  5. Amazing review, Cathi, thanks so much! We board in 2 weeks and are really excited! Quick question--you've mentioned the C&A coupons--is there a coupon book or where are you getting these things? I feel like i read alot about C&A benefits but I never use them or get them. We are almost Emerald now and I would love to hear how to truly get benefits out of it. I read about a buy one, get one at all bars but again, is that a coupon? Do we ask? Any help would be great! Thanks SO much!

  6. Hello! Does anyone have any feedback on the above named excursion? My DD is obsessed with Trolls and the idea of a hug from one of them would be incredible. But if this isn't the "real" Trolls or just statues or whatever, I'd rather not spend the money. I also don't usually do anything on Labadee but relax and swim so I wasn't even looking for an excursion, but then saw it on the cruise compass and had to look into it. Thanks in advance for any help.

  7. Hi Bob--Sorry to hear this. We get on in 2 weeks and spent alot to be in the Grand Suite. We were hoping the special suite service would be over the top--sounds like not so much. A few questions for you--how do they give you the Zoom? Is it for each person, even my kids? Did you have most of your meals in the CK? We are on deck 11 so we'd have to go up to it often, but were planning to do so to be in a smaller atmosphere. Do they do cooked to order eggs for breakfast? Lastly, does the suite lounge have sodas/water/beer available during the day? Someone said they did but trying to make sure. Thanks.

Just off Oasis from last week - quick thoughts here...we were in a Grand Suite, and while Suite perks were nice, it's not worth many thousands more. We've sailed Oasis and Allure multiple times in the past, but not a single person stood out as deserving of a WOW Award this time. It was as though the best were already taken and put on Harmony, or perhaps Quantum class ships.

Food in dining room was maybe a tiny bit better than last time on the ships. Izumi Hibachi was fine, but expensive (consider a specialty restaurant package).

Cabin - for a Grand Suite, we were a little disappointed. Persistent bad smell in the cabin, which was even worse in bathroom. Although engineering tried to find the source in the wall (in bathroom), they could only alleviate the smell for a day or two. And of course, our sailing was sold out so no option for changing. Also, curtains in the room smelled like when you first turn the heat on for the winter. Odd description, but that was it exactly.

Weather wasn't great the first two days with strong winds, but it was windy season.

HIGHLY recommend Adventure Race (a.k.a. Amazing Race) tour in St. Maarten - you don't have to be super athletic at all to have lots of fun. Also we really enjoyed Stingray encounter in Nassau on Balmoral Island.

Lots of discussion on board about Symphony, but NextCruise deals weren't anything you couldn't get on land (except that you could get your future credit applied to the current cruise). No real incentive there.

Don't know if it was almost time for a lot of the crew to be changed out (if their contracts were almost up), if the top folks have been moved to other ships, or what exactly, but I would recommend Allure over Oasis ten times out of ten. Or, save your money and try Harmony/Symphony better yet.

I heard a LOT of people on board talking about how they preferred other ships and other cruise lines to this sailing on Oasis. That surprised me, as we've sailed Oasis multiple times in the past and loved it. This time, it was only a "like," however.

  8. Hi Robyn--it's Karin from Phila! So excited to "be" on this trip with you! I do have a few questions--you know me and my questions!!

Do you miss your usual suite/balcony? Will you miss being in the concierge lounge that comes with the suite? And you mention replenish package--you do that instead of the full drink package? Do the costs work out for you? THANKS!! Hope you relax and have fun!!
