Am I to understand when sailing the Quantum Class ships, each person in the same stateroom needs their own Set Sail Pass or is it only if the parties are paying their own on board charges.

Each person needs their own. Where as on other ships if you are sharing a charge account in the same room you would only be prompted to print one, on anthem each person needs to print their own regardless of charging or room.

Our set sail passes for our upcoming anthem cruise look totally different. No area to sign either, and each person needs their own pass.

So I'm assuming you won't accept/use the 50% off another RCCL cruise?

 

It's unfortunate at this time, so much is out of your control. Hang in there and try to make the best of a bad situation.

So I could be wrong but aren't they receiving a 50% Future Cruise Credit? I thought I remember seeing that is what they were getting in addition to the refund for this sailing. A 50% FCC is different than 50% off a future cruise. Basically they will get a voucher (think gift certificate) that is valued at 50% of what they paid for this sailing. That FCC will most likely expire in 1 year. Depending on how much they spent and what they use it on, they could end up with a close to a free cruise from that voucher.

don't know if its just my old slow pc, but when i get to the room selection page on the website, when it first loads, for a brief second the Courtesy Hold button is there. It appears they took the easy way out and just hide the button rather than removing it. I was able to refresh my page and click fast enough to get to the hold page. now if you want to pick a particular cabin you are out of luck, but at least for the time being you may still be able to hold a price if your fast enough.

Clearance ... from what ?? Theyre the only one in port ... anyhow .. the biggest ship there has to wait for clearance ???

I believe they said coast guard. We were told at muster we would be leaving right on time so this is most likely unexpected.

I am aboard the allure right now. At 5pm we were told we were waiting for clearance and there would be a 15 minute delay. Haven't heard anything since although I'm on the balcony so may have missed it.

Edit: and now unfortunately I've finished my whole bottle of champagne before sail away.

Yes, sometimes even a little more when pricing out for July...which is pricey but that is the tag most people will pay for sailing out of their area. However, I priced the Liberty today - 9 night on 08/13/15....3 pax (E1) is a total of $7,336.00. That, IMO, is way over the top. I expected Quantum Summer prices to be well over $6,000.00 for 3 people but Liberty....an 8 year old ship (in 2015) with minor differences from Explorer....kind of got me shaking my head.

I agree. I think RC overplayed there hand here. Their line of thinking in regards to pricing seems to be that they are still giving the NY area a "new" ship since it's been the voyager class based here for some time. I can't see this selling too well at that current price. People were willing to pay high prices for the Quantum because it was something new. This is just a bigger Explorer. I know I was looking to book it in May 2015 but at over $2000 PER PERSON for a balcony, I'll be going on the NCL getaway for $2000 TOTAL instead.

Question, I am in an aqua class cabin in November but my reservation has listed traditional 6pm for dining. Should that say blu there as opposed to traditional?

Me too!!! We have done the New England 9 nite cruises on explorer 5 times in the past and had hoped the quantum would also take over this itinerary :( not happening . So we are doing New England again on the explorer this year and we will enjoy. Maybe next year we will do princess

I believe the quantum will be doing it in septemberish. If you look at st maartens port schedule for the summer it has quantum coming every two weeks similar to the explorers spring/summer itinerary this year. In Sept (maybe other months not sure) the quantum will be in st Maarten only once a month which also coincides with the explorers current 2014 schedule where it does the Canada/ne cruises.

From Adams blog in the section he talks about Oasis III, last paragraph, is there a hint for a ship name from the reserved trademark list, “Passion of the Seas”? More speculation right.

I think your right about the Quantum and Anthem in the chart but the third ship should be Breakaway Plus 1 which along with Breakaway Plus 2 will be built before Quantum 3.

Just a thought but wouldn't those bottom two pink ships still be the anthem being completed after they float out the quantum?

How do they plan on floating the quantum out if they are building the athem in front of it?

With that blocking the quantum, how will they float it out? Can they take it out the back?

I have never gotten any money back for a shorten port day, have you?

I am booked on the quantum in feb 2015 and they removed the Samana, Dominican Republic stop entirely. I called to inquire about a refund of port taxes since we won't even be stopping there (yes I know this was a long shot, but it didn't hurt to ask) and were paying for a port that is now an additional sea day. They wouldn't even do that so I highly doubt they will refund anything for losing only one hour off the port.

Has anyone read CC's article about this? Not quite sure why these reports keep stating that the the Allure and Oasis are switching dry docks. Oasis was never scheduled to have work done in Feb to my knowledge and most certainly not in the Bahamas.

Has anyone seen anything regarding them switching in sept/oct?

The porthole (above the couch in image) looks out onto the cabin's balcony. See cabins 6234 and 6634 in deck plans for location/orientation.

I get that but my question is do they face someone else's balcony? To me it looks like if you are looking out of that window from the grand suite you can see forward and onto the balcony next to you. And for that matter the balcony next to you can see into your room?

maybe I may have missed this or maybe I have forgotten but has anyone identified what the round windows are on the balconies? are those from the room next door that look onto that person's balcony?
