  1. I know this is a cruise forum but I've gotten lots of great information before while taking cruises on activities in the different ports. Last year we went to Costa Rica in May and a cruise to Bermuda in Sept.

Anyway, my husband and I, and another couple, are staying at Sunscapes all-inclusive the end of Feb. I learned while I was in Costa Rica that there were massages offered on the beach must less expensive than the hotel spa.

Does anyone know if such a thing happens in Curacao?

    Thanks.

  2. I was just on the Breakaway. You can put cash into the slot machines. If you want to get more money, you can go to the cashier and get it. It goes on your room if you have a credit card on file. There is a $100 minimum and they charge you 5%. Not sure how it shows up on the room charge.

  3. We are leaving on Sunday on the Breakaway from NYC to Bermuda. Family of 4. This is our 2nd cruise with NCL and are considered Bronze level. I just looked and at that level you get priority check in.

When we checked in I had to pick a time (12:00-12:30) to check in. How does priority check in work? Can we go earlier? Avoid lines?

    Thanks!

  4. I understand I can bring wine on board the Breakaway and be charged $15 a bottle for the corkage fee so I can drink it onboard. If we buy alcohol or wine on the ship or in port, they will hold it until we leave.

My question is: We rented a boat in Bermuda for a full day. If we bring a couple of bottles of wine will they hold it for us without charge and let us take it when we disembark in Bermuda for the day?

  5. How old are the kids?

We did a family balcony room on the Gem 2 years ago and it was fine. However, my kids were 18 and 20 at the time and their schedule was different than ours. We like to get up early and do stuff all day and go to bed after dinner and the shows around 11. They liked to stay up til 2 or 3am and then sleep in until 10. They slept in the twin beds and we slept on the pull out couch.

The following year we went on Carnival and they had an inside room and we had an outside room. They spent most their time in our room anyway but for us it was nicer.

We leave on Sunday on the Breakaway and again are sharing a room except this time we get the bed and they have bunk beds. They are 21 and 23 now.

No matter how messy the rooms gets or how cramped you get, the experience is one you and they will cherish forever.

    Have a great trip!

  6. We had friends rent a pontoon 2 years ago because there was 10 of them and they loved it. We don't fish.

My big question though is they only sell water and soda at the shop. We will have to take a taxi from the ship. Is there someplace to stop on the way (and will the taxi driver allow us) to pick up beer and snacks?

  7. Yes, we got the 17 motorboat. There are 4 of us going. They had a special of buy 5 hours and get one free. We are avid boaters anyway so decided to do 8 hours (10 to 6). My children (21 and 23) and my husband and I both love to snorkel and swim and would much rather do that than walk around and shop. I think I'm the only woman on earth that hates to shop.

  8. My family and I leave on Sept. 27 out of NYC on Breakaway. YEAH, 10 more days!

Reading through the threads tonight and just saw a thread where they said the Breakaway stopped doing the fireworks on the last night out of Bermuda. Is that true?

I booked this vacation back in April. Any other recent changes?

This is our 2nd NCL cruise. Did the Gem to Bahamas 2 years ago. Did another line last year but didn't care for it as much.
