  1. Having not been on a 7-day yet, I'm going to guess around $85-90 for premium. It was $60 (15per day) on a 4-day and $70 (14 per day) on a 5-day. I'm thinking 12 or 13 per day on a 7 day which would be $84 or $91 over 7 days. I'll know for sure in a couple weeks. I'm just planning on $100 and I'll be good.

Sounds like a logical rule-of-thumb. I'm much more comfortable with this now! Knowledge is power!

  2. Daily prices listed below:

You get a discount on the daily price if you order any package for the entire cruise be it 3 day or a transatlantic. How much discount depends how long the cruise is. We paid about 35 dollars for a the mid-level plan which would have been 48 dollars by the daily price.

With mid-level we could surf the internet for the most part. Had no problem playing the games we like at night before bed and we could send pictures and texts back home. We had decent signal in our cabin although many people report signal strength can vary wildly by location on ship. We were deck 8, towards the rear on Valor.

You do NOT have to buy ANY internet package in order to use the HUB app. All of its' functions are free except for chat with other HUB users onboard. You can enable chat for 5 dollars per cruise. Anyone you want to chat with also must have the app with chat enabled.

You can share one plan across many devices but only 1 can be logged in at a time. If you're playing clash of clans and you're wife wants to milk her cows in Farmville she can kick you off by signing in. It worked well for us as we weren't needing simultaneous wifi but if y'all need to be on at the same time you need to buy 2 packages.

No matter what package you get, it's pretty slow. You can get most stuff done but it will take longer than you are used to if you have any decent internet at home.

Mucho thanks! I have to keep my work email phone up and running (my ball and chain) and was wondering how to deal with it! You're the fount of all knowledge!

  3. Is anyone aware as to whether someone with a felony record is allow to go on a cruise? Would the cruise line deny someone? My partner committed a crime years ago, before sobriety entered his life, He is not on probation but a felony charge would show up on a background check.

I was going to just call Carnival and ask but unfortunately, I am not sure I trust a customer service representative with such an important question that if answered incorrectly, could cause us to be declined entry on to the ship.

Thank you to anyone who has some insight, it is greatly appreciated.

At first look I thought this was the name of a punk band that was providing entertainment. LOL

  4. You need to finish the rest of the math problem. % of alcohol multiplied by the volume equals the total alcohol content. You would only be correct if all of your examples were the same volume.:rolleyes:

I didn't know there was going to be a math quiz on this forum...

  5. Pet peeves:

People who complain, incessantly, about their fellow cruisers.

People who want a cruise to proceed exactly the way they think it should 100% of the time.

People who think they do everything right and everyone else is doing it wrong.

People who think Carnival employees main job should be to act as little policeman and to catch all the "rule" breakers as those folks break the rules.

People who waste their vacations and their enjoyment by focusing on all their "complaints" instead of just making the best of situations.

People who know exactly what the amenities are before they cruise and then complain that their aren't enough amenities to satisfy them while on the cruise.

People who act like a cruise ship carrying 3000 plus other passengers is their private "yacht" and everyone should be catering to them 24/7.

And so on and so on.....

    I sense some hostility...LOL

  6. Called CCL to book a cruise with some friends and it ended up being free.

This last Monday our friends booked on the Freedom for the 5/24/14 cruise. I looked online on Wednesday to check the prices for the better half and myself. Prices were a little high, so I looked at an old email from a PVP we used before and called him. I told him I wanted a balcony next to our friends. As I was talking he interrupted and to tell me he had an interior... I interrupted him back and said "no a balcony!" He then explained that my record had been flagged and that my wife and I were eligible for a FREE cruise (interior cabin) all we had to pay were the port charges ($95 p/p). I snapped it up and we're GOING!!!

    He couldn't explain HOW I was tagged...AND I'm NOT complaining...any ideas?!?!?!?!:):):):):):)
