If my phone will be on airplane mode do you happen to know if I can still use the Starbucks app to pay with my gift card? I can't seem to locate the physical card that I received years ago and curious if you can still pay with the app without service.

You can use the Starbucks app while in airplane mode, since it’s just utilizing the barcode. Just make sure to have money preloaded, because you won’t be able to add money without WiFi.

Also, keep in mind what without WiFi, it won’t have the updated amount that you have left on your account, so you’ll need to keep track of that. If you start with $50 on your account and use $10, just remember you have $40 left because your account will continue to show $50 until you’re connected to internet and it updates.

Lastly, you CAN use any giftcards on your account and you will collect stars. However, you CANNOT redeem stars.

    Hope this helps. 🙂

We will be on Celebration in December and are looking forward to your thoughts on the ship.  Could you please find out the minimum on the craps table please? Thank you in advance!

    Have a great trip!

I was on 2 months ago and the craps minimum was $10, with only one table in the casino. It was a madhouse around that table, all 7 days.

Hooray it’s here!  Last day of work!!!  I need to be super productive …here’s hoping I don’t have too much cruise brain and spend my day here reading reviews and port descriptions lol

Speaking of ports we are not booking any excursions - we rarely do - and will be adventuring on our own!

Today is my last day also and it’s going to draaaaaaaaag! We are driving down from Tampa Bay tomorrow to spend a few days down there prior to the cruise. Safe travels.

  4. I have two, one directed towards the cruise line and one towards fellow passengers.

I understand that most cruise lines limit the time between drinks, when on the drink package. However, those other cruise lines do not have a limit as to how many drinks you can consume in a day. With Carnival, it is 15 a day, so waiting between drinks shouldn't matter. I understand they do it to cut down on people sharing packages, but people are going to share regardless, with only 15 in the allotment. If I want a floater on the drink, having to wait is frustrating. I also understand that you can tip extra and get the floater, but it's still the policy.

    The other is impolite smokers/vapers.

I am seeing people vaping more and more around the ship, in non smoking areas, even while sitting at bars sometimes. Come on people!
In addition, I enjoy the casino and sometimes the better machines are in the smoking section, and I have no issue sitting beside someone who smokes, but be polite about it. Don't turn to me and blow smoke right into my face, simply because you don't want someone sitting beside you. The rules also state that you can smoke in the casino when "actively gambling", not just because you don't want to walk up to smoking section, but would rather occupy a machine to smoke, while not using it.

  5. I have the Carnival credit card through Barclays and I cruise on Celebration next Sunday (10/22).

On 9/25/23 I redeemed enough points for $200 of OBC. The email I received said it would be delivered on 10/10/23, so I assumed it would go to my Carnival account then. I called yesterday because it was not showing on my account and they told me to give it until 11:59pm. Today (10/11) it's still not on my account. I called Carnival and they do not see it either.

I just called Barclays and they are saying that the OBC will not be available until the day I sail, 10/22. Is this accurate?

I was hoping to use the OBC towards my internet package for the week, which I get cheaper by purchasing pre cruise.

Has anyone redeemed their points through Barclay, and have insight on this? Thanks in advance. :)

  6. I am recently Diamond and see there is a 30% discount on the Deluxe Beverage Package, when purchased onboard.

I’ve always seen the packages sold for BOGO 1/2 off on embark day.

My question is, will the 30% come off the BOGO 1/2 off price or the base price? If the base price, which is a better savings?

(I know I get 4 free a day, but I am trying to find my best route)

  7. I was on Mariner as Emerald and debarked on Saturday. During this cruise I became Diamond.
I’m back on Mariner this Friday, but my status has not updated on the site yet. I’d like to forego purchasing the beverage package and use my 4 free drinks a day, so I called C&A to see if there is anything that can be done to expedite the change, and was told “no, it can take up to 30 days.”

Has anyone experienced this, where you cruised before your status changed? Is there any way around this, because as I said, I’d like to utilize the diamond perks and not have to purchase the package for 8 days?

    Thanks in advance.

  8. As stated in the title, would you choose 8 day on Mariner (2 overnights in Bermuda) or 7 day (3/4 b2b) on Independence, with a repeat itinerary?

A few things to note: I have been on Indy several times, never Mariner. I love Vintages on Indy and see Bamboo Room replaces that on Mariner. Also, I have never been to Bermuda and the Indy essentially repeats the itinerary during the b2b, Coco and Nassau. Lastly, I would have to switch rooms during the b2b because (casino comp) one is JS and the other is Balcony. Whereas, the entire Mariner would be a JS for the entirety.

I know it seems like a no brainer, choose Mariner! But I am looking to see if anyone has an opinion on why they would choose Indy. For me, it's comfort. I have been on the ship 5-6 times and know it like the back of my hand.

    Thanks in advance.

  9. I’m on Serenade next week and this will be the smallest ship I’ve ever been on, which means less bells and whistles.

That said, I enjoy the occasional 1am slice of pizza before bed. I see the Serenade does not have a pizza spot, so what options are there to snack late night?

I was just on Wonder and they had pizza, a small buffet in the casino and the promenade to eat late night.

    Thanks in advance.

  10. Hello there fellow cruisers, and thank you in advance for any help.

I am on Serenade in 1.5 weeks and redeemed some of my RC Credit Card (Bank of America) points for OBC.
Where am I able to see that OBC on the RC site/cruise docs/etc?

I just did it this morning, so I am sure it hasn't been updated yet, but I want to make sure it's there before I cruise since it was through BOA and not RC.

The last thing I want to do on embark day is try to get it all straightened out.

  11. I booked WOTS today, and it cruises next Sunday.
When I went into the Cruise Planner, it says all of the shows are completely booked.

This is my first time on WOTS, but when I was on SOTS last year we booked all the shows once we were onboard, as there was no pre cruise option.

I’m thinking it’s changed and with me booking last minute, did I miss out on the opportunity to book shows? I know I can do a walk in/standby, but was hoping to get some secured spots.

    Thanks in advance.

  12. Good morning, I’m hoping maybe someone has some insight regarding my issue.

Last night (Friday) I decided to book a cruise last minute, that leaves Monday. This morning I went on to purchase the beverage package and internet, but it’s saying that sales have closed for this cruise.

I understand they need to send the manifest and such, but has anyone been in this situation and/or had any luck with calling and getting them added on after sales closed, for the pre cruise price? It’s a decent amount of money I’m trying to save.

    Thanks in advance.

  13. Hello,

I am a little confused with the following offer, and have seen it discussed on here quite a bit recently.

1 COMP GUEST IN A DOUBLE OCEANVIEW OR INTERIOR
    23VAR406

I am looking to do a solo cruise and have an offer for a 7 night on the Wonder, under this offer.
If I book it, am I just paying the taxes and port charges for myself, or is it forcing me to pay the double occupancy?

    Thanks in advance.

There is a lightly-active thread in the casinos forum where some of this is also being discussed. And to @RFerrington's point, I'm getting offers well beyond what I should be getting based on my level of play over the preceding 5 cruises during the past ~18 months. It doesn't make sense.

Additionally, we're currently discussing there that Casino Royale is starting to experiment with offering a half-comped cabin (casino guest comped, but the rest of the double-occupancy rate remains due). They seem to be making changes in the realm of offers.

To touch on your second point, this was one of my recent offers. Free for me, with a discount for a second. Great itineraries and ships to choose from, but I hadn’t seen that before.
