  1. Does anyone know if Adventure of the Seas has the nursery for drop off of your 6-36mo old babies? If it does, do you know the hours? This would be A-Mazing!

I think it was supposed to get one in the recent upgrades, but they shortened that upgrade time and it's no longer getting that stuff.

I was hoping for it as well, but we'll be ok without it over NYE this year!

  2. Hi, been on Majesty many times and am going again this May. Great ship, but the cabins are very small. I would suggest at least an oceanview cabin, but as someone else suggested, if you can snag an oceanview on Deck 9, that would be great.

I have stayed on every deck.....4, 9 and 10 are my favorites. If you have more questions, let me know! You'll like Majesty :)

We did Majesty for our Honeymoon in 2013. We loved it for the itinerary (we got to see Key West), but the cabins are small and the ship would get old on any longer of a trip.

It was perfect for us at the time, especially for a port intensive cruise. I think a sea day would be boring for us IMO.

  3. Our Allure trip didn't feel crowded at all.

We did 12 night Serenade in Mediterranean last July and it was very port intensive (until the last 2 days I think). I'm not sure how much you'll do on the ship if you're getting off at every port and keeping active.

Just something to think about, we found that European cruises (and excursions) require you to be more active to get stuff out of it (not really many "beach" type days or anything).

You'll love Allure though, and we would have welcomed more stuff to do on Serenade by the end of 12 nights.

We enjoyed our European cruise (was with a bunch of family) but won't be rushing back. Once you see one bunch of old stuff it all starts to blur together.

  4. We had a 12 night family Med cruise on Serenade and felt a bit long.

I think part of it was that we got a little tired of what was on the ship by the end. I think on Allure or a bigger ship we'd have more fun and more stuff to do.

Maybe part of it was the European aspect too...very port intensive so by the end we were somewhat tired. Caribbean is way more relaxing (even if you do the tours), so we've figured out we won't be rushing to go back to Europe lol

  5. Worth it is relative.

The first and foremost thing to us is that we feel very comfortable sailing on Royal Caribbean- no idea why, but we just fit.

And since we really got back going cruising, the points have just gone up.

The Top benefit- the discount- is very valuable to us.

The coupon book- we've taken advantage of that, too- free pictures, BOGO wine, BOGO at a restaurant, etc. What we use there is what we would use anyway, so it helps.

Lounges are cool- that saves us a nominal amount of money with the drinks, and really has given us a different dining option, which is really cool.

Some ships give tours- which are very cool. And have value IF you do that.

In the end, it adds up a lot, and is very valuable to us.

Same here....we just enjoy RC every time we go, so until that stops we don't see why we have to change.

We're now Platinum and starting towards Emerald. We have 7 points coming at New Years. Basically 4 more 7 day cruises and we'll crack Emerald. May take us 4ish years, but it'll be fun.

Now that we have our son (3 weeks old) we are eventually going to try a Disney Cruise with my parents (they have DVC and love Disney, so they'll want to take us on that when he's old enough to really appreciate it).

Otherwise we don't really have a big desire to try Carnival or the others, for what we enjoy doing.

  6. So I am 27, and from the ages of 17-19 have cruised with my parents, but they also well into my early 20's cruised without me, including some JS trips, bumping my status to Emerald with 69 points (despite my only being at sea with RCI for 20 nights, all in non-suite accommodations). My C&A number has my home address listed as my current address, not my parents' house. Also, there was no C&A for children when I was under 18, and never joined until I was 19. It seems my unique situation has made it so my points never reverted back to only those earned with myself onboard.

I am currently booked for my honeymoon cruise, and my fiancee has never sailed with RCI, so she won't be able to join C&A until we get back. The thing is, I am now afraid to link her to my account once she joins, since it may alert RCI to their error (still showing me as having 69 points as opposed to 20). I know it's a silly thing to get bent out of shape over, but if I keep flying under the radar, I'll be a short 4-nighter away from diamond after this next cruise, but it'll be a long way back up if I'm knocked back to 20 (27 after the next one).

I also realize they could catch the error at any time and revert me without trying to link anything, but anyone here want to weigh in on whether it would be worth joining C&A accounts with my future wife and risk us both dropping down to platinum, or continue on as it is, hoping to hit diamond just myself and sharing whatever perks are sharable?

I know nothing about this stuff (compared to others here), but what I usually read is that C&A rarely demotes people's level, they may just reset points. My thoughts would be to get yourself to Diamond and then link her once you're established as Diamond.

  7. Just had a son and probably going on a family new years cruise. He's on the reservation, but do I have to get him a C&A number yet or no? I'm working with C&A to link my wife and I so we get the correct platinum status all ready. Just didn't know how to handle kids, if I do it now or later. Thanks!

  8. We got 2 on our 4 night Majesty cruise. My wife loves them! She was minorly disappointed she didn't get a 3rd, but we didn't expect one every night.

I think we got 3 on our Allure cruise 3 years ago, 7 night cruise.

I think they're kinda cool. Just a fun little throwaway thing that can help make a vacation even better.

  9. Why does RCI continue to treat Ken Rush as the king of cruise directors??

Notice only one person listed him as a favorite. Most people I know dislike him, hear that a lot on here too. So, what gives? With amazing staff like Spacey, Brooks, and Seymour why do they trot this guy out on every new ship?

I mean is the theory you need the better cruise directors on older ships with less wow? Does he pad the comment card box?

    Yeah, I have no clue.

I have only been on one cruise (Allure, with Ken Rush as CD) so can't compare with others. That being said, talking to the rest of my group who had cruised and Ken was ok. Nothing bad, but nothing great. That was the impression I got as well.
