  1. There are showers in the locker rooms. There are also some added amenities (razors, q-tips,etc). These showers are awesome. I highly recommend them.

There is also a steam room you can use (on the dream class; not sure about the classic ships). This is located in the locker rooms.

All of the above are free to use for anyone 18 and older.

The Rainforest Room is a separate area. These showers are more like water features (you don't use soap or shampoo in these). Each shower features different water features, different lights and sounds. We love them. But, these cost extra.

  2. I bring my own laundry supplies. I like the Purex 3-in-1 sheets. I also bring a mesh pop-up hamper. It doesn't take up much room in the luggage and is very handy. Others have used a piece of luggage for dirty laundry.

On our last cruise, the machines weren't working in one of the laundry rooms. Maintenance had been called, but had not gotten fixed in hours. I just happened to mention it to our room host. He made one phone call and the maintenance men came right away. The room host let me know to always let him know if something needed to be fixed.

So, if something is not working correctly, let your room host know also.

  3. You can get "starter" sets from Disney stores and on the ship. The starter sets usually come w/ a lanyard and some pins so you can trade.

Be cautious buying on Ebay. Research it very well. Some sellers on Ebay have junk that CMs won't trade. Also, be cautious of pins from individuals (not CMs). They may have bought the junk pins.

Trading is just that. You trade one of your pins for one of theirs.

Note: This can get expensive quick. And addictive.

  4. Is that allowed?

Yes, carrying your room key in your pocket is allowed. DH nor I like wearing the lanyards around our necks. I always carry mine in my pocket. If I don't have a pocket, I give it to DH so he can carry it in his pocket.

:) I want one of the teleporter things. I always seem to be on the wrong end of the ship from where I need to be. I'll be on the correct deck. I just can't keep straight if I am supposed to be aft or forward. Yes, I am directionally challenged.

  5. Beaches at Castaway Cay: There is the Family Beach (anyone can enjoy) and then there is Serenity Bay (adult only beach). Also, the teens have an area (I don't think it is restricted, just kind of out of the way....I might be wrong).

The beach area at the Family Beach Cabanas I think is restricted to the use of the ones that rented the cabanas. The Serenity Bay Cabana area is not so restricted.

I think I read that the Concierge Team services the Cabanas......????

I will know for sure after our next cruise.....December 2016. :)
