the flight from my home to charlotte and from charlotte back home will both be on a crj200 operated by us airways the flights from charlotte to jacksonville and back are on a319's

I will be flying for the first time to get to my cruise going out of Jacksonville. I would love to be able to drive but work time restraints will not allow it this time. I am flying in the day before my cruise so that is not an issue
I am flying on US Air the flight out of my local airport is on a smalller regional jet this flight goes to charlotte and them i connect on a larger plane to jacksonville from there, also on the way back home i will board a smaller jet from charlotte back home
i understand with these smaller planes carry on size is an issue, so i am assuming i will have to gate check my carry on on these two legs of the flight Will i still be able to bring a backpack size bag that i can carry onto the plane with me for my camera and a few other things. ?
also on my flight coming back from jacksonville to charlotte to catch my connecting back home i have a 1 hour 5 minute space of time is this enough to catch my connecting flight ?
one more? since i am going on a back to back cruise i am undoubtedly going to have to have a checked bag since i am connecting in charlotte am i going to have to pick up my checked bag at baggage claim or will the move it forward to the next flight and i only have to bring my carry on with me
thanks in advance for any help and if you have any other tips please feel free to share them with me :)

loving your review abd yes you could have climbed those stairs to take some pics i did the last time i was there and they kept the shopping area small because the main attraction of HMC is the beach :)

HARBOR DEEPENING
Deepening the harbor is essential to meet the needs of larger cargo ships transiting the Suez Canal today - and the expanded Panama Canal in just a couple of years - as those vessels deliver cargo to JAXPORT terminals. A 47-foot depth for the federal channel would position JAXPORT as the first U.S. East Coast port of call for fully loaded New Panamax class vessels.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) conducted a comprehensive, years-long economic, engineering and environmental study of the project. A signed Chief's Report for the project was issued in April 2014. In June 2014, the project received congressional authorization in the Water Resources Reform and Development Act.
The initial engineering and design work has begun and is expected to take 18 months. Deepening construction could begin as early as 2016.
Thank you so much for your review, I have always wanted to do a B2B, but then I figure i'll just go to another port and sail out of there, but you can see that the Fascination is my favorite! And we always do a porthole, love the light, and the cost is the same as an interior. I too love the Riviera deck, so nice when you get back all wet from a day in the sea. but DH loves the Empress, closer to "ship" things, and he has some mobility issues, so we have recently changed to that deck. to do so we have to book early!
You brought back some great memories, and got me all excited about our upcoming September (anniversary)cruise.
I love your pictures, really like the one that looks like a giant seagull is about to attack the boat! LOL! Loved it!
Marshhawk there is a roll call cor the sept 21st sailing if you would like to join us -
can i ask what kind of camera you were using and if a dslr what settings you had it on to do the sunset shots

Freport and Nassau on first leg and Half Moon Cay and Nassau on second leg , my main reason for this one was because i wanted to go back to HMC again :) Plus i have my birthday on the first one

Great review i have been following it all and love the pictures. I can't wait for my B2B in September :)
-
Don't leave us hanging lol just kidding waiting for more :)

I am excited about this review, I am doing a B2B on the Fascination in September so i cant wait to see your pics and hear all the details. looking forward to it :)

Love your reviews as always, was never able to get around to mine fro my Dream cruise last September , lost a camera on the cave tubing in Belize , so there went lots of my excursion pics, also after being on smaller ships i guess i was not prepared for such a big ship, i was tired most of the time. But we had a large group and i met lots of new forever friends, and had a blast.
i am booked now for my first B2B on the fascination with some friends from the Dream cruise for next September Happy Cruising:)

We were on the 9/7/14 sailing and loved the piano bar! The pianist/singer's name in Jeremy Ray and he is awesome! You should give him a chance next time. He might surprise you! ;)
i was on this same cruise 9/14/14 and the piano bar entertainer was Barry Meijer he had just started on the dream that week is from a european country cant remember which but his accent was what made the songs sound a little off :)

thanks again awesome review helped me pass the time and now i leave in the morning on the train for the Dream so ready to go :)
-
Awesome. Enjoy your cruise...will you be doing a photo review when you return??
Where are you taking the train from?? When we cruise on the Dream in December we were originally going to take the train from Chicago but we found airfare on Southwest cheaper than Amtrak would be. I would much rather spend 2.5 hours on an airplane vs 19 hours on a train
yes i will give it a try i have never done a photo review i may have to ask questions on that
i;m taking the train from Jackson Mississippi:) so its only 4 hours for me and cheaper than gas
-
yes i am leaving next sunday, going down on the train on saturday :)
-
Always love your reviews and this one is making me want to go back to Half Moon Cay really bad, However i am leaving on the Dream on the 14th and am really excited and ready for some relaxation :)

you will feel a little vibration coming n and going out of port and maybe some when the captain is high tailing it back to home port on the last day i dooubt they will change your cabin again after it has been assigned but there is always a possibility :)How is the vibration and the thruster noise? I am a bit excited about this. Is it true that they can still switch our cabins because I think I can print out luggage tags. -
no its not a balcony its and oceanview with a window i stayed in that cabin in Feb. 2013 its a good cabin i enjoyed it
-
its not a tour it is a beach resort 15 to 20 minute taxi ride from port and you can leave whenever you are ready they will have taxi's waiting
-
We were given a cove balcony room 2284 on the main level on the Dream ship. There is going to be a baby in the room. Is this a quiet room or if you have stayed in this room, did you like it?
have you sailed yet do you have a picture of this room :)

they call it I-95 the main passagway of the ship were all supplies are delivered into on home port where crew areas are etc. if you take the Behind The Fun tour on your ship you would get to see that and much more
