  1. Sue - I think we may be near neighbours, I did try to word my post so as not to ask for specific advice - just general experience, I may not have succeeded.

I've just tried to do a dummy booking for a 24hr hold on the Uk Celebrity website and it wants a CC number for £300 deposit? am I doing something wrong or do you have to go throughout the US Celebrity site? (my computer defaults to the Uk site)

    Many thanks,

    La

  2. This is a bit of a ramble - but I wonder if I may ask for some advice?

I am looking to book a celebrity suite for a Med cruise in Sept 15. 4 CS's were available last night and my UK TA (who is brilliant) and I agreed we would both keep an eye on them and I would look into booking on board when I am on my next cruise in early May or if any of the obc, drinks packages or free grats offers came back in the mean time, as at the moment the UK offers are not very good at all (free parking at Southampton - doesn't apply to this cruise, free flights - but with loads of catches and supplements! and stateroom upgrade - ocean view to partly obstructed balcony - not any good for my booking)

She has contacted me this morning to say suddenly only 1 CS is left and she had grabbed it but can only hold it until 5pm tonight. If I book it none of the current 'offers' will apply.

I understand the USA still have pretty much all the offers going still from last month and I would possibly get obc, drinks and free grats? My TA here has reluctantly advised me to look into booking with a US travel agent.

My problem is I am a bit of a control freak and rather like having a person to contact - not just a number for a large company - for anyone in the UK who has booked through a US agent before - how did you find it went? what are the pitfalls?

My next job is to try to google reviews to find an agent.

Any help and advice would be much appreciated.

  3. Good morning, I am new to your website as of yesterday, looking for a future cruise - couldn't (and still can't today) see any cruises or offers as it gets stuck "loading results". I am on an iMac running Safari version 6.1.6. If I open it in Firefox it loads immediately. Am just happy to be able to let someone know of this problem - as another certain cruise line I have used has encountered had a lot worse problems with their website over the last couple of years! :D

  4. I am looking to book an Alaska cruise next May (I am in the UK), when I log into 'my celebrity' and go onto my Captains club page it shows an offer for up to $1000 off Alaskan cruises next year, but every time I click the 'learn more' button takes me to the page but shows no results (I have been trying this for a week now on different computers)

I rang the UK Captains club a couple of times but they are unaware of the offer and have suggested ringing either a US based travel agent or the US Captains club number to ask them.

I realise I might not qualify for the offer but would like to check before I book the cruise.

Has anyone else seen the offer and if so does it state any restrictions in the t&cs?

Any assistance would be gratefully received.

  5. Many thanks for the great review, I am currently debating booking an AS suite - but am unsure because of the location under the pool and cafe. The cruise we are looking at still has loads of cabin available including most of the ones on the 'hump' (which I am hoping will overcome the problem of the large overhang from above) Did you experience any of the noise problems that people report from the pool above?
