  1. Usually a couple of extra outfits and fancy shoes... after the first couple of cruises I realized I wouldn't be using all of that, so started leaving that all at home... I also don't bring my laptop anymore... i had these grand ideas I would blog while I was at sea... nope.

I do bring a couple of Tervis water bottles/coffee cups tho, because I found I don't like how small any of the cups are... so out with the shoes, in with the cups lol

  2. We have found that our butlers generally figure it out quick that we drink a lot of water, diet coke/coke zero, and hubs drinks occasional beer. As such, that is always available in our room after day 1... I LOVE having the bottled water in the room, it is so much easier... We usually gave them a really good tip... our fridge is generally empty on arrival, and we just put our stuff right in there..

Butlers are awesome... Ours even found me sugar free ice cream one day when I really wanted something but can't order off the main menu... Chip was his name, and I won't forget him!

  3. Wow a B2B2B sounds amazing! But Not better than 2 weeks on the ship! Lucky you!

We really are fortunate that we got to do that. Looking back, I'm not really sure how we pulled it off lol!! it was such a busy time for both of us, but we had priorities ;)

Again, I really hope you love your time on the ship... Personally, I never want to be "TOO" ready to get off the ship... because that means I won't just go ahead and book the next one... (I like always having another one coming up) :)

  4. I've done 3 day, 4 day, and 7 day cruises. we've done B2B2B (3:4:3) for 10 days which was not long enough lol We also did a B2B 7:7 for our honeymoon, which I did feel was long enough to appreciate being gone and ALMOST want to go home... almost!

Be careful ;) this addiction is hard to control!!! :)

    Have so much fun!

  5. Absolutely, if you need tennis shoes/sneakers for walking a lot, (like me), then you bring them along. along with a pair of sandals that aren't slick on the bottom (I almost busted by butt on the deck in a pair of the 2.50 Old navy Flip flops, never again!) and bring a nicer shoe if you want for formal night.

You don't have to get formal/elegant whatever if you don't want to. And, you are there to enjoy yourself, so if you want to look super awesome, go for it. You will look awesome anyway because you are on a cruise and enjoying yourself!

I tend to have a mix of sun dresses to wear, but as I'm doing a med cruise this time with a lot of sight seeing, I will do more capris, same sandals/tennis shoes, a couple of sun dresses for the ship, and a couple of swim suits (before and after the cruise we have beach time).

one night shirt is probably plenty honestly... you just wear it to sleep.

More importantly, bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen (tho buy that in San Juan if you are worried about weight on the plane). Walgreens is everywhere there. And they have awesome grocery stores for pop/wine etc.

Also, if you are picky/sensitive, bring your brand of toiletries(deodorant) , as you may not find exactly the same thing somewhere else.

    Enjoy yourself!

ps: I agree with splitting your suitcases up half-sies incase one gets lost, dropped in the water, whatever...

  6. Hi QuattroRomeo

I thought their reviews were very good too, but when I had asked for recommendation in cruise critic and on other social media their name did not come up. I decided to take the plunge and try them out anyway, but thank you for replying.

Have you done your trip yet? What did you think of them??

  7. I just wanted to confirm that it is possible! One time, we didn't get any tags on our bags (we had pop, a water bottle and some wine) but they also didn't go through it, but the other time, I was still carrying the liquor in a separate bag, and one of my bags was tagged. I just tucked the tag in my hand and carried it on.

You might want to carry something to remove the tag, the guy made it so that I couldn't have used the bag again the whole trip if I hadn't been able to remove the tag in the room because he tied the straps together so tight on my bag... Kinda pissed me off actually... Tagging one strap would have been sufficient.

    Anyway, success!

  8. No sushi that I found... I think they don't do that anymore and have a taste bar now.

We set up the meet and greet, and we just paid for drinks if we wanted something. They supplied a bar tender for the hour!

I face booked him and asked him for some stuff for the party. Just wait til the day before. It was great!

  9. Just back from the 9/13 sailing of the Liberty.... No fires on board...

It was such a good time! Was it perfect, no vacation is perfect, but was it so fun? yes!

We did lose power/engines etc for about 10-15 minutes after leaving Barbados. But, everyone was in good spirits, joking, and it didn't seem to impact anything.

The alchemy bar was fantastic. The girls behind the bar are amazing!

    St Thomas was gorgeous.

Fun Day At Sea was cloudy, but still had so much fun at the CC Meet and Greet (lots of free gifts from John Heald/Carnival and music/lounge space for free!)

Barbados : Calabaza tours was fun, but I don't think it was the most amazing time ever... I think next time we will hit a beach. Don't get me wrong, it was cool, the food was good. But, I've had better snorkeling.

St Lucia : beautiful. I can't wait to go back and explore more.

St Kitts: didn't get off the ship

St Maarten: Maho beach/airplanes cool. However, currently there is no sand on the "beach" so it's rocks you have to climb to get into the water. Didn't stop me , but was not an easy cool off.. Also, they have port-a-potties at the sunset beach right now, since they are redo-ing the bathrooms... Just fyi.

The American table... I miss table cloths. The water drops from the drinks are annoying. The waiters seemed to all agree they missed it too.

Corina (the best waitress ever!) is still there 3 years later , and she remembered us. If you have any time dining in the Golden DR on 3, ask for her. You will NOT be disappointed. She and Raj are awesome. So is Eric, if you can't get Corina.

Anyway, I'll probably add more, but I wanted to write something quickly! Ask me questions if you want too!

Also, we were able to carry on some alcohol in my bag... we just hid the orange tag... super easy.

    :)

  10. Since the change in July, has anyone tried this? I've never been to the pier, but I have read there is a store on the other side of check in?

Anyone who has an issue with this question is kindly asked to keep your snarky remarks to yourself... I'm sure you're next in line for the Pope as well. :)

  11. We will be with you on the Liberty. Second time on her but first time out of San Juan. We are super excited. Flying out Friday morning and can not wait. See you on board.

Hey if you haven't joined the roll call, join!!! We are having a meet and greet and a slot pull!!

    Can't wait!!!

  12. We paid in cash at the hotel check in counter, and then they kept a tab for us at the bar... We just made sure we got to 40 (or whatever it was then) and left... :)

You can walk there, unless of course you can't walk, then of course you couldn't...

  13. Last November, on Celebrity, we were scheduled to do a ziplining, but a tree fell on the course. They suggested/replaced the tour with a private hiking tour to some waterfalls. I would really investigate whatever you decide to do...

If either my husband or myself weren't fairly fit and active people, we could never have done the 4 hours hike through the treacherous rain forest "path" to the waterfalls, and over the slippery rocks... I'm not saying it wasn't an experience, but I don't think I'll ever do it again. I was pretty much scared the whole time that I would break something, and be stuck in the woods because I wouldn't be able to get out of there!

Beautiful country (what I saw when I wasn't just watching my step).

    God bless them!!

  14. Perhaps this was going to be their first time in Nassau and that is why they are pissed. I'd be the same way if it was my first time to a particular port.

I guess by upset I meant disappointed, not "pissed". No one should be "pissed" that Carnival cares about your safety more than taking you to any destination.

He totally got the safety thing. He was disappointed because he didn't think the ship would be fun instead. It was his first Carnival experience, so I just suggested he check out this board instead! Also, I assured him, Carnival will have plenty of fun for him.

  15. Since this isn't the proper forum for theme park reviews, my review will end when we debark the Breeze. I will however, touch briefly on some of our pre cruise activities. Feel free to ask me any questions, including those about Universal, once the review gets rolling and I will be happy to answer them.

Is there a forum for theme park reviews?? That would be cool!

Hope you had a blast, and I can't wait for your review :)

  16. I looove the Chipotle Pineapple Martini... By the end of my B2B on the Glory a couple of years ago, they had made me all kinda spicey martini concoctions. I cannot wait to get back on the Liberty in a couple of weeks and mix it up again!

I like celebrity's drink package better, and we enjoy them, but we miss the alchemy bar like crazy when we stray from carnival... lol
