  1. Oh—another thing! We counted up what we had for dinner. The waiter brought us 5 appetizers, 6 dinners and 5 desserts. For four people. We had a voucher from our travel agent for a complimentary dinner for two at a specialty restaurant. So we only had to pay for the kids. So we got the bill, and it was $20! Twenty? Dollars? That’s it? He charged us only $10 for each kid, but we all ordered from the adult menu! $20 for that feast?! We were shocked, astounded, blown away. Needless to say, he got a VERY good tip.

What a great review and wonderful photos!! We are taking our grandkids, girl 11 and boy 7 on July 29th Western Caribbean. Can't wait. Is there a fee for rock climbing and zipline for children?

    Did you watch CATS?

  2.

    Good afternoon,

I booked a GTA room category on the Oasis. We sail on July 29th. However, when I go to book "On-Board Entertainment" it says I must wait until onboard to reserve. Any thoughts? TIA.

    Hi

We are on the same cruise July 29th, also tried to book on board entertainment, and got the same post "wait until onboard. Read on thread that bookings will open between 60-90 days.

  3. The kids started most days on the Flowrider. The older two did a group lesson on the first morning. With 8 people in the group, they didn’t get very many turns. Our oldest was able to join the advance standup sessions so he was motivated to get up early in the mornings and go.

On the first sea day, it was the higher tier welcome back party at the aqua theater. It was nice because we saw some of the performers from the aqua show and their amazing tricks. I am glad we went to the party because our aqua show was canceled because of rough seas and we missed the rescheduled show.

On two afternoons, my husband and kids went ice skating. The Oasis has a great way of doing the sessions. You can show up when they start handing out tickets and request your preferred time.

We enjoyed seeing the ice show one night. The headliner show was Wild and James, comedians/jugglers. Our boys really loved it. I probably enjoyed it more because I was sitting between the boys and they were laughing so hard. They continue to quote the one comedian who was pretending to be the captain.

One thing we all loved was all the live music on the ship. The bands were all really good and we enjoyed listening to them in the various venues.

The younger two went to kids club two afternoons and I think 3 nights. The 12 yo went to the 12-14 yo group the first night. He enjoyed playing dodge ball but he didn’t go back except for one other night.

Thank you for the wonderful reviews and photos. We are taking our grandchildren girl 11 and boy 7 to Oasis in July - Western Caribbean. Do we need to book the flowrider? our 7 yearss old boy is small, about 47" is he allowed on the flowrider. Do we need to book online all the activities like flowrider, ice-skating and broadway shows?

  4. Hello, I'm a local to. Just trying to help fellow cruisers.

If you are the 20th in Bruges than there's no problem at all. Our national day is the 21st.

Anyway, Bruges is a very touristic place so restaurants, pubs, etc will be open. Also the chocolate shops and tourist shops will be open.

If you come on sunday 21st the big shops like H&M, might be closed. Some will be open to. It depends what exactly you want to do.

Traffic jams will be ok. SO nothing special there to...

Bruges you can visit very easy by foot, it's not that big. I would also recommend to take a hour boat trip on the inner canals (they call Bruges the Venice of the North). These trips are narrated and interesting.

Thanks for the information. We actually docked on 21st Sunday.

If you need more info or this didn't answer your questions, just ask... .

  5. You're more than welcome, enjoy your stay in Belgium!

For the others looking for taxi services. Open the link and you will find a lot of information... . (POZ stands for Port of Zeebrugge).

    Hi

We are arriving Zeebrugge on 20th July, apparently Belgium National Day

Question: will the shops be closed and any problems we should anticipate

    like traffic jam etc.

    Thanks

  6. Based on the Eclipse, I would look at A2 with exceptions below:

    350wait.jpg

    I would skip A1.

However,1605, 1610, 1547, 1552 look better than the rest of A1 d/t larger balconies and location.

1506 is partially under the first treadmill. It won't be an issue on a cruise with less physically active passengers.

Technically upper decks are more prone to rolling. The bow is more prone to pitching.

    Just general considerations.

The bridge is partially obstructing views.

    Please don't be shocked.

We can book the cheapest cabin and have a great cruise.

All this illustrations are just showing that some locations are better, some are worse.
