  2. I will be going on a cruise the first week of September 2015 that stops in Labadee, Falmouth, and Cozumel. September being hurricane season in Jamaica I'm starting to wonder if I made a bad choice of traveling during this time. Has anyone been to Jamaica during this time? How was the weather, how was the water temperature etc....

  3. Hello All,

I've been lurking around the cape liberty threads for weeks now looking at Hotel suggestions etc. I would like to know if this is the best option for my party.

We are a group of 6 coming from Southeastern CT for a 1/11/2015 12 Day Quantum cruise. We will be driving down the day before in 2 cars (3 rooms) and looking for a park/sleep hotel. I've looked at trinity, stay123 and buyreservations. They have some ok deals, but are still expensive.

We are currently booked at the Hampton Inn Staten Island. 2 King Rooms @ $121.92 per room and 1 Double Queen @ $131.10. The hotel provides free parking for the 12 days and free shuttle to/from the port. The only thing that keeps me thinking this isn't a good deal is the $13 toll for 2 cars. That brings the total to $400.94.

Is there a better way to do this pre-cruise stay or are we in a good spot?

    Thanks in advance!

You are in a great spot.....we used Hampton Inn for our last cruise this past February. Can't beat the price for room, hotel, shuttle, and free hot breakfast. Just think it cost $19 per day per car for parking at the pier... Just be sure to keep the number to the hotel handy in your phone the shuttle to return to hotel is not always on time

  4. Let's look at the Noro Virus a different way. We recently heard on our nightly news broadcast of a severe outbreak of Noro fairly close to our town...This happens all the time. You catch Noro on the job. You are very ill for one to three days. Do you stay home or go to the job? If you go on to the job, then you spread it to your fellow workers and thus begins the cycle. Do you all get paid sick leave plus your regular salary? Noro happens everywhere all the time, hospitals, schools, churches, nursing homes, anywhere there are people. Let's stop blaming the cruise ship. Someone, passenger or crew, brought the virus onboard and it spread like a wildfire. That's what a virus does. The ship wasn't sick...If i'm on a cruise and I am sick for several days I just consider that my misfortune and I don't expect a free cruise and fees reimbursed. It just happened and there's nothing I could have done about it. Would I board a ship if I was knowingly sick with Noro? I think not....I would reschedule. I am now off my soapbox. Happy sailing everybody!

You are right on point!!!! Well said.....I will be boarding The Explorer on Feb 8...

  5. Thank you! We're thinking the snorkel with tubing outing is a good plan for us.

You will love Captain Carl..... he takes u to a really cool spot for snorkeling....private...lots of fish to explore ......if u book him...let me know how much u loved it

cruising is the best way to vacation!!!

  6. Captain Carl's boat tours in Nassau..... Google it.... He has lots of packages you put together based on what you want to do...... My husband and I and another couple used him last year while in Nassau... Just the 4 of us on the boat....we did the 3 hour tour..... He did a tour of the island....snorkeling and tubing for 385 which came to under 100 per person..... It is safe and fun..... He has lots of reviews on trip advisor.....much better than a regular excursion with 20-30 people.... We are goin back to Nassau in February and we will be using his company again to snorkel and go tubing. Check it out :-)

  7. I'm not sure about question #1....you should try calling rccl and they can prob clear that up for you....or don't book the package until the day you board as to it will be a table set up for you to book drink packages on boarding day....then you can ask all the questions you need so there are no surprises...

My husband and I always have an onboard credit of some type and it has always been applied to our sea pass account on the second day of cruising.....

    Hope this helps a bit
