  1. Thanks so much for the review. My parents are taking me on this itinerary Feb. 9 for my birthday. I’m so excited to go and have been looking for any information. Day 2 is my actual birthday, and I’m glad that’s formal night because I love to dress up. Do you happen to remember what the menu was for that night? We are trying to decide between MDR and a specialty restaurant, but we all love seafood and don’t want to miss that night in the MDR. This is the third cruise for me and my mom, but we haven’t been on the Brilliance or one that size.

  2. I also just got off the Oasis 😢 and we went to the Windjammer for a "snack" of crab legs, shrimp, and mussels on the 2nd formal night. I don't like buffets since I find people rather gross at them (sorry I have ocd), so my parents should've been suspicious when I suggested going there. Then we went to get changed for formal night in the MDR. It was lobster and prime rib night. Our waiter gave me both 😁, boy did I love him.

Just to note, there was a chef giving out the seafood and there was only one type of shrimp, but my aunt did find calimari. You could get seconds but I found the crab salty and with a lack of butter didn't desire anymore. Apparently, there was another seafood night I think the first formal night according to some in our group. Always keep an eye on the cruise compass and go check it out.

  3. We leave on the Oasis Saturday, but fly in Friday. I'm way more anxious about bad weather when we fly in since I hate flying. I was very upset when the dates for our cruise were changed to the height of hurricane season (going with a group, little choice on dates), they said they got a better deal - uh yeah . Also, I teach classes at a college and the original dates didn't interfere with that.

The only thing we have planned is Nachi in Cozumel, but they will let us change that if we need to due to itinerary changes, so I'm not too worried as long as there still space on the day we change to.

  4. Both of my parents got fitbits for Christmas, but I'm still waiting for one that I can actually swim with and will track my activity there. If you have a Wii U then the fit meter that goes with the Wii Fit U game is pretty neat for what it is. It tracks steps, calories, and altitude (not just steps, but can tell when you've taken the stairs vs the elevator). It also monitors your activity level and METs. I don't set a step goal, rather I set a calorie goal in the game. Until that activity tracker I really want comes out, this works for me. My parents will have their fitbits on our cruise next week and I will have my fit meter.

Of course you could also check Best Buy daily for deals on different activity trackers. I've seen some as low as $30.
