Thank you all so much for your ideas. I might just have to start the evening very early, so that I can get to do all of them !!:)

It's probably been asked before, but we have an overnight stay on board our cruise ship in Venice. As it will be out last night of the cruise, I'd love to enjoy an evening in Venice rather than on board ship. Do we do a Gondola trip, just walk the street and soak up the atmosphere, go to various bars for a tapas style meal ? All (very sensible) suggestions very welcome. I should add apart from embarkation at Venice, we have not been there before.
