Hi, my wife and I are planning on taking a 7-night cruise of the Eastern Med and Greek Islands after doing a 10-day land tour of Italy for our 25th anniversary in June 2019. I really need help with picking which cruise would be best. We are trying to decide between NCL STAR out Venice on June 16, 2109, RCCL Rhapsody of the Seas out of Venice on June 15, 2019, or RCCL Jewel of Seas out of Rome on June 16, 2019. This would be our first time in Europe or the Greek Islands. Our Travel agent said he felt Italy was best seen by land and Greece best seen by sea, so thats why we are doing both the land tour and cruise. The price for all three cruises is about the same, so it comes down to the best ship and itinerary. Which one should I choose? I am open to other cruise suggestion as well. Thanks in advance

Thanks for the replies.

Did you misplace your other thread, asking basically the same question...
No, I still can get to the other thread but was hoping to generate more responses with this thread from people who had actually been on both ships before. What is the better overall experience in regards to food, entertainment, activity and ship quality as far as cabins and public spaces.

Which ship is better Emerald Princess or HAL Koningsdam for a 14 or 12 night Mediterranean and Greek island Cruise? Itinerary is about the same. Thanks in advance for your reply’s

I would also vote for the Emerald. HAL tends to attract an older crowd. Princess not as old.
Yes Paul, I have heard that as well but other things I have read have mentioned that the crowds tend to be older on any cruise line when you talking about a cruise longer than 7 days. Thanks for replying

Thanks for replying, I have been leaning towards Emerald because of the itinerary but noticed that the HAL was a newer ship. The HAL Koningsdam I believe does go to Mykonos and Santorini on the July 7th 2019 departure out of Rome.

Hi,
I am planning on taking my wife on a Mediterranean and Greek island cruise for our 25th wedding anniversary. We have never been to Europe and figured this would be a great way to see a lot without having to pack and unpack every couple of days. We have been on a couple of cruises to the Caribbean, one on Royal and one on Norwegian. We really enjoyed them. We are looking at either going on 14 night cruise on Emerald Princess leaving June 15th 2019 or a 12 night on HAL Koningsdam on July 7 2019. The HAL cruise is about $1,000 less. Since they both leave out of Rome we are planning on spending a couple days prior to sailing in Rome to explore Rome and Florence. The Emerald Princess Cruise ends in Barcelona so we would spend a couple of days at the end of the cruise there if we chose that cruise. My wife will be 48 and I will be 53 years of age at the time of the cruise. We have 6 kids that will not be coming with us. We are pretty active people who enjoy the cruises shows and entertainment. We are not real big party people but do like to have an adult beverage from time to time. We also enjoy on lot of activities on the ship as well as relaxing. This will be our first trip with just the two of us in about 18 years so I really want it to be special. Based on all this which cruise do you all think would be best for us? Thanks fo all your help!!!
NCL Star or RCCL Jewel of Seas or RCCL Rhapsody of the Seas For Med and Greek island

Thanks, we have decided on the STAR. Now we have to decide if a balcony is worth $2000 more than inside.
