I read that the thermal spa was not completed.  Will they continue to work on it or will it have to go into another dry dock to complete?  Sailing on the Joy in June and that was a big reason I picked that ship.

When you book a RC cruise do you go through them directly or do you go through a travel agent?  Are there benefits to travel agent vs. direct?  Been a few years since I cruised last.

Yes, I know it ports from Miami. Flights into FLL are much cheaper. Already have transportation scheduled with SAS transportation $30 roundtrip. Even with that cost the flight to FLL is less expensive :)

I have a few questions for you all:

 

1. I am flying into FLL. How long is the travel time from airport to terminal. Flight lands at 9:05 a.m.

2. About what time was your cabin ready?

3. How long did you wait to get on the ship from your check in time (mine check in is 11:00 - 11:30)?

I booked a tour with Courtney Taylor when I visit Ocho Rios on a prior cruise.

Can't recall the driver, but he was fun,gave great info about Ocho and Jamaica. Did tubing, Dunn fall and return back to the port along with two couples. The family in my tour wanted to visit a beach.

As for being solo,no issues. The vendors are agressive at Dunn fall,but I'm the type who travels a bit and know how to deal with them.

Cheaper than cruise tour and we had a shuttle bus (small one) with close to 15 people, not crowded and both the driver and one couple made sure I was on board before leaving areas. I enjoyed the tour.

Now I wouldn't advise wandering outside the port area solo. This is one of the few ports I would not suggest this.

 

 

Did you contact him beforehand? Mind if I ask the cost?

Thanks everyone. I will stick with carnival excersion. Might pay a bit more but sounds like it will be safer. Looking at going to blue hole. Sounds like Dunn’s can be a zoo.

Anyone port in Ocho Rios? What did you do? Book excersion with the ship? Most tour companies I am seeing only work with groups. Thanks for your input.

If anyone is traveling on the Carnival Sensation on 5/7 and interested in doing a tour through Karandas Tours in Ocho Rios? They have a minimum for their tour and I am cruising solo so looking to find others to join. Thanks!

I also have a later flight home. How long will they let you stay on the ship on disembarkment day if you have Faster to the fun?

My flight arrives in Ft Lauderdale at 9:05 a.m. so I am guessing I will be at Miami port by 10:30 a.m. Should I get Faster to the Fun or will I be able to get on the ship shortly thereafter? I believe I requested an 11:00 a.m. check in time.

Taking a cruise in May with Carnival. Stopping at Ocho Rios and I have never been to Jamaica before so looking for the best/safest excursion to do. Cruising alone, love the beach but also thinking about doing something at the Dunn River Falls or Blue Hole. Will book through Carnival. Is there a good place to go to see actual photos from past guests vs. the photos they put on their website

The last cruise I was on 2 years ago (Royal Carribean) had a night where they brought in lots of stuff for $10 each (scarves, jewelry, hats, cover-ups etc). I think my last Carnival cruise had a night like that as well.

Booked a 5 night cruise on the Carnival Sensation for May, 2018. Have not been on a Carnival ship for a few years so looking forward to my trip. What kind of changes might I expect? I have seen a fun times from early 2017 and I don't see the $10 sale. Does that still happen? Still have formal night, lobster?

I am going on my 1st Royal Carribean cruise in 2 days and I just got an e-mail stating that my board time is 2:30 (based on my deck). My flight gets in at 10:30 am so I am guessing I will be at the port by 11:30/12:00. Will I have to wait that whole time to board the ship?

 

Would have been nice if this were listed somewhere prior to booking the flight.

Looking at going and doing a day pass somewhere, right now considering Atlantis, Breezes and Rui. Do these have lockers? If so, what is the cost? Going on my first solo cruise and want to get off the ship but know I need to take money/cruise card so I want them to be safe.
