How was the volume? On our Escape cruise, they had the volume turn to 10 for everything! Plus, the CD or Activity Host would yell into the mic. Needless to say, we didn't stay for the party LOL
We were on the same sailing as UFlaw (who was an awesome m&m host!). You are right - the volume was very high. Thanks to tips from Cruise Critic, we brought earplugs and were able to enjoy the family glow party.

JS - MidTexHorn has some info about the gym in his posting titled "Live on board Escape - random thoughts." Search the thread for the word "gym" or for the phrase "exercise class schedule."

Love the comparisons to carnival. Carnival has been our go-to cruise line since having kids, and we are trying the NCL Escape next month as a family. Thanks for the insight!

Can't wait to hear about all the adventures! As we are in the Escape 2 weeks after you, we also can't wait to hear about the entertainers since we may have some of the same ones!

Gramercy Tavern. Food is spectacular, service is down to earth and attentive.
If you are downtown to see One World Observatory or the Oculus, Jose Garces's Amada (a Tapas type restaurant) is a couple blocks away and is well worth it.

If the balcony size is based on bed position, watch the opening video of this review (which I couldn't open from an app but could from a regular computer) and read post 35 as a follow up: JW and Jerome's Adventure on The Norwegian Escape

JW - thank you, thank you, thank you! Not only are you funny and witty, but you are so kind to help others with these questions. I wish I were sailing with you to buy you a round of your and Jerome favorite appetizers to go with your drinks!
You have put my mind at ease. Now I am super excited for this vacation!

Thank you for posting your reviews. They are informative and very very funny. So happy you use your writing talent on this board!
Can't wait to hear about your March trip. We leave on the Escape on 4/15. Since our kids are still in school, we are stuck traveling during school holidays (as you call them "High Holidays"). Our last cruise - on the awesome Carnival Breeze - was without the "rest" in R&R due to the nightly teenager traveling parties that carnival wasn't able to shut down. Crossing our fingers that this cruise will be better (we spent the extra $ to get a suite that has Haven access and picked a cabin in a less crowded hallway).
We will be anxiously anticipating your review from March to hear how your spring break cruise goes. It will help us prepare for our adventure in April.

I never noticed a delay returning to Manhattan cruise port terminal, but my last cruise to there was 4 years ago. I am really excited to hear the QM2 will be on the Hudson on May 31! Will have to watch for her! Hopefully someone will have more recent info on the terminal....

If you fly the day before, and you pack light, try flying into Newark. Stay at the weehawken Sheraton (much cheaper than NYC after calculating the ny hotel tax). The ny waterway ferry leaves from in front of the hotel and drops you off 10 blocks south of the ship. I love taking a boat to the boat, and love the walk along the Hudson.

You are welcome. Hope you like it! Looks like you will be there the week after us in April, so we won't overlap. Enjoy your cruise - Cuba sounds amazing!!

We are partial to the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon. Free transfer from MIA to hotel. Hotel is walking distance to grocery , liquor store, cvs. Can get all the last minute items for the cruise. They have shuttles to the port in the morning, too.
