  1. Highly recommend using Romeinlimo.com for your excursions. Stay away from the ship excursions. We went a few years back and it was the best decision ever made! You travel in groups of 6 or 8 for a fraction of the cost and they can customize your tour if you. The drivers in each are local and so knowledgable. And you aren't in a big bus with people of all different paces. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out. We had a group of 4 and using their share forum on their site we ended up with 8 of us all from the ship.

  2. Hi! We were on Epic cruise in 16021 the following week after you, had David and Jamal as well. We travelled with 3 kids same as you. Your review (other than the fact that our week the Haven was crowded with families monopolize the chairs early and the pool area was full by 10am with adults and kids and no where to find a chair in the main area) David was amazing and Jamal was less than all of that. Pretty much the same requests, delays and clueless. We sailed on the Getaway last year and had an amazing butler that was always one step ahead of our needs. Just thought you would like to know it wasn't you! Lol

  3. Ok- sooooo we sailed in the getaway in cabin 16120. It is ABSOLUTELY the perfect location. It's located directly across from the lounge. If you open the cabin door you can see into the lounge and pool area through the glass windows to the lounge. The door to the lounge is in front of it - but because of the configuration of the hallway and lounge you hear zero noise. No one walks down that corridor unless they are going to their room on that side. The opposite side 167xx go through a door to the lounge to get the hallway to their cabin. (Hard to explain but when you are on the ship it will make sense). We loved the location so much we booked it again for our Getaway cruise in October. Have a great time! Take 16120 or 16122, you will be glad you did!

  4. Loved your post. 5 of us sailed in 2

connectors a year ago and then sailed in a Haven 2bd suite over summer. It's a world of difference. Really is the difference between staying in a Best Western - your in your own to make yourself comfortable and informed vs. staying in a 5* hotel with personal service all inclusive.

Your post was exactly our experience and although many people can't afford to stay in Haven, if you can swing it then it's really like being subtly pampered and enjoying an intimate cruise on a big cruise ship. Don't think we will ever sail standard again.

  5. Hi.

We are looking at either cruising the Caribbean or Bermuda (getaway or breakaway) first week in October. The idea of stopping at only 1 port seems odd to me. Looking for some feedback from those of you that have spent the 3 days in King's Wharf and whether that's better than 3 different ports. - what's there to do for 3 days and isn't the ship more crowded on the port days because end up staying on the ship the latter days? Thanks!

  6. Sailed on Star in December and on Getaway in July. Both had one poker table with a cash game every night. Table was full every night after first night with a waiting list. It was a $1-2 game with $100 min, $500 max. Rake is 10% with $25 per hand max. Very excessive but with a captive audience it was the only game in town, lol. As far as tournaments, I think there were at least 2 tourneys on both 7 day cruises. They were $100 buy in with rebuys and a huge rake as well (I think 25%). Hope I helped answer your question and then some. Lol!

  7. Maryann - a trick is to book the comfort suites in Nassau - you can have access to Atlantis though them. Just taxi over and check in and out. They will give you Atlantis wristbands. It's right next door to Atlantis and will save you a few hundred dollars. Hope that helps.

  8. Aft Haven cabin downside is it's really far from the Haven amenities - haven't traveled in one but based on having 16120 I think it's a big difference (I know a lot less expensive though). Haven is in the very front of the ship and aft is far!! 16120 is right in the center of everything but also quiet because the way the doors and hallways intersect. You'll get what I mean when you get on. We had a 10:20am flight and made it with a little wiggle room. Yes, the priority debarkation was awesome - she just walked us down and we went straight to baggage claim. - a trick is that there are 2 customs exit areas. The first one is the one you see and it's mobbed with people - there is another one around the corner that's practically empty - look for it or ask someone. Taxi's are easy and you will make it just fine. Btw - woke up in the morning and called Armando and ordered breakfast (anything you want) delivered to our room, ate while getting ready and left our room about 815-830am.

  9. Just got off the Getaway last Saturday. We were in 16120 :). I can tell you a few things - 1st - location was the best! Would book that room again hands down! Door is directly across from entrance to Haven lounge and so close to concierge. Perfect location! 2nd - our butler was Armando, super nice and always there to help. He brought us special order breakfast on the menu and remembered little things we asked for even when we forgot to ask. Great trip, great room! Any specific questions feel free to ask!

  10. On day 3 or 4 they offer a "fill the bag" special for $28. They launder and return to you within 48 hours. The bag is decent size and we've put a lot in it - overflowing - lol! Hope that helps. :)

  11. Just got off the ship last week with my 8 and 7 year olds (boy and girl) and our friends 7 year old girl. All 3 loved it! I wasn't crazy about the food, but it wasn't horrible either. Show was really great and well worth it. We went the 1st night and got the discount. As a Haven guest we were escorted in before anyone and that was an extra treat. :). I recommend the splurge.
