  1. Our family cruises once every other year on Royal's new build. We've been waiting for Utopia and like many, couldn't believe Royal planned 3/4 day itineraries. It's too short for us and we don't care to bake on their private island. We cruise to be on the ship

The problem in jumping from Royal cruise line is finding staterooms. I understand Royal's categories and where I want to be located on their ships. Princess is so different and I never looked at MSC (which after reading above, I want to look at MSC).

How does everyone so easily accomplish going to a differently line and finding cabin locations?

For any people who recently came down with CoVid, is this your first time? If not, when did you catch CoVid before? I am wondering about the Delta variant(s) and the rate of reinfections.

Sorry, I need to correct my C19 variant. I meant omicron which surged in the US around December. Please do post if anyone knows their recent CoVid variant and if they tested positive again.

  3. Follow up: Saturday I called at 3p (45m), 6p (1.5h), 8p (1.2h) and 11p (45m), all to no avail. I took the advise here and called early am and surprisingly got through in 5 minutes on Sunday. The whole conversation lasted 5 minutes and I was able to make my cabin location change.

    Why-oh-why doesn't RCCL have a call-back system?

Interestingly Royal recently moved the call center to the moon. Living quarters are quite parse, so they have only a couple CSRs in residence.

That's hysterical. I thought the only CSR working at royal was on a 24-hour smoke break.

It's good to know I am not alone. Something about misery loves company, but I would love to get thro even more. What is the C&A #? Maybe I will have better luck with that one.

  5. I read about l-o-n-g wait times to call Royal, but I never experienced it. Well, that changed today. I called three times and had to disconnect after one hour. I called at different times, late afternoon, dinnertime and evening, all without success. Does Royal have only one person handling these lines (sarcasm)?  Is there a optimal time to call? A optimal day?

Just curious, what was your longest call-in wait before connecting with a Royal agent?

I get it, save paper and all that "green" stuff. But, I don't want to have to carry my phone with me everywhere on the ship. I want to carry the paper copy of the Compass.

I agree. It does save the "green stuff" if you are referring to green cash for the executives and increase profit margins. This has nothing to do with being green for mother earth. If that was the case, they would stop cruising or build more ecofriendly ships. Their motive is not conscientious to the planet.

  7. As many, I was hoping for an Easter sale on UBP, dining and excursions. What happened instead was a giant price increase. My 5-night dining went from $122 to $157, UBP went from $66 to $73 (the new sale price), and an excursion I was watching went from $84 to $124. I see that the 'base price' for unlimited beverages also increased from $88 to $98. Has anyone else notice their cruise planner items jump in $$?

  8. Looking for recommendations for a snorkeling excursion in Nassau that stops at one, two or three sites. I have already posted on CC ports but no response. Royal is offering an afternoon sail and snorkel (booze) cruise. I’m more interested in good snorkeling opportunities then an one-hour open bar

I have search online but have not found many boat excursions operating on Sunday when Odyssey ports. Hoping cc community can help

  9. I don't understand how some over 65 are able to get a third jab. CVS website for scheduling clearly states... "I need to schedule an extra dose (weakened immune system only). Remember, you're eligible if you've received a complete vaccine and have a weakened immune system. By selecting this, you're confirming this applies to you."

Our CVS pharm are turning away people. Seems they rather toss unused doses in the bin than stick people.

We just got our boosters at Walgreens, our original shots were at a large drive-through health department site. Walgreens asked us to bring our original card and they added the booster shot to our original card. However they will give you a new card for the booster shot if you laminated your original card.

How? Did Walgreens expand the 3rd-dose vaccine beyond the immunocompromised individuals. I been waiting to hear that the Sept 20 date for booster shots is earlier.
