  1. Just arrived home ,UK, and have had four cruises on Princess in the last eight months. The dress code is almost anything goes. I wore my tuxedo but was in a minority of guests who 'dressed' for formal dinner. The guest list was generally very cosmopolitan including Chinese, American, Canadian, Australian, Argentinian, Spanish, Asian and English. Guests who fly cruise have obvious luggage restrictions and a Tux is considered not necessary. Princess have become very relaxed about the dress code which as mentioned, wear whatever you are comfortable wearing. I do think it is a great shame that formal nights are not observed any longer as they add a little sparkle and sense of occasion to a formal dinner. Happy cruising.

  2. Hi

Highly recommend ALLA tours. We spent two glorious days in St P and booked two full days tours with alla. We formed a party of ten on this site and met on the ship. We were taken on a mini coach by ALLA to all you would wish to see and visit and more, with a very knowledgable guide. Our tours were half the cost of the ships usual overpriced rip off and we saw twice as much, much to the envy of our dinner guests!! Another bonus was that we never queued. Our guide always took us to the front of all queues and we had priorty entrance which is a huge bonus when the lines get very long at the popular attractions.

Look at ALLA'S web site. You will have a FANTASTIC time in St. P. It is one of the greats in our memories.

  3. Husband and I have booked a Baltic cruise for next June and wonder if any one can tell me how easy it is to "do it alone" in some of the ports and we can then make a decision on which places to book P & O trips. We know we definitely will book trips in St Petersburg but wonder about the other ports - Zeebrugge, Gdansk, Klaipeda, Tallinn and Copenhagen.

    Many thanks for any replies

    Hi.

We did this trip this year and we booked our trips in St Petersburg with a local tour company. We booked two full day tours, lunches included, and were treated to a fantastic tour of a lifetime. We saw twice as much as we would have with the ships tours and it was half the cost. We were on a mini bus with eight other passengers from the ship who had pre booked with us with a Russian guide who gave us so much information and spoke very good english. Google : 'Alla tours' and have a read.

    Have a good trip.
