We're taking our 16 and 14 year olds on Royal next month, so I will report back! We're going over spring break though, so I would guess there will be more kids on our sailing than in January.

Hi all,
We'd love to go jet skiing in St. Thomas in April, but I'm having trouble finding a place to do so. There's a place open on Water Island, but I think I've ruled that out because of time constraints (docking at Havensight). The company that operates at Emerald Beach is not running tours right now. Any suggestions?
Thank you!

Are taxis readily available when leaving Emerald Beach? Also, how much time would you allow to get back to Havensight? I'm not sure what traffic is like.
Thank you!

Does Emerald Beach currently have any shade? What is the cost for access to the beach/chairs/etc? Thank you in advance!

Hi all,
We will be in St. Thomas in April and would like to go to Water Island. Does anyone know the time length/cost of a taxi from Havensight to Crown Bay? Also, has Water Island recovered from the hurricanes?
Thank you!

Hello all, I'm trying to find a place to jet ski with my teenagers while on our southern Caribbean cruise. Ports are Princess Cays, St. Thomas, Martinique, Grenada, Bonaire, and Curacao. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hi all,
We've booked a balcony cabin on Royal for four people, and I'm wondering how the room is configured when the Pullman beds are lowered (it's going to be tight, I know, but I couldn't bring myself to spend the extra money on a mini-suite). Does anyone have a photo? I've looked online and haven't found one.
Thank you!

Thanks, everyone! We've decided on a 10-day sailing on Royal. The outdoor teens-only area sounds great!

Hi all, we're thinking about cruising with our teenagers (16 and 14) over spring break on either Regal or Royal. They've cruised before and don't need a lot of bells and whistles (eg, water slides), but they have enjoyed the teen club on other lines. If you've cruised with your teens on either of these ships in the past, how did they like it the teen club and the ship in general? Thank you in advance!

Thanks, everyone!

Thank you. I found the answer to my question...minimum age is 16, unfortunately.

Does anyone know if there is an ergometer in the gym on the Pearl? Also, what is the minimum age for use of the gym? My 15-year-old is on his school's crew team and is expected to work out during our vacation, so I'm wondering if that will be possible. Thanks!

I'm not sure about Spirit, but Breakaway had only sporadic children's programming. I know this because one of my kids was sick in bed for three days on our last cruise, so the TV was on a lot. :(

Hi all,
Looking for a place to snorkel from the beach...would you choose Chankanaab, Money Bar, or Playa Corona? We are novices and looking for something easy.
Thank you!

We booked a mini-suite on the Pearl because they are 285 sq ft versus 205 sq ft for a balcony cabin. With two adults and two teens, we thought it was worth paying a little more for the extra space. We were in a balcony cabin on Breakaway (226 sq ft) and couldn't imagine having even less space than that.

Years ago on the Spirit, we were next door to a newlywed couple on their honeymoon and accompanied by several friends. There was unfortunately an adjoining door, making the sounds of their cabin constantly full of drunk people even louder. The trash can was apparently near the adjoining door, and they would throw their liquor bottles against that door and into the trash can. One day, we heard the husband vomiting all day (at least it seemed like it). These neighbors really ruined the cruise for us...I couldn't wait to get off the ship. Lesson learned: we never get a cabin with an adjoining door anymore!

Sailing over Easter for the first time. Do they do anything special for the holiday (religious service, Easter dinner)? Just curious.
Thanks!

I'd like to visit Chankanaab, but our ship doesn't get to Cozumel until 11 am. Is it worth it to go only for the afternoon? It looks like it closes at 4 pm or 5 pm...I've seen both times listed.

Thanks for the info. Can anyone else on the Pearl recently comment on the menu in the MDR?

I have a couple of questions about this type of cabin:
1. Are there footrests for the chairs on the balcony? I'm guessing there are two chairs and a table?
2. How bad is the sofa bed for two people? I'm thinking it's going to be me (Mom) and my 13-year-old daughter in that bed, and I'm a little nervous that it's going to be uncomfortable. Will the steward provide a foam topper if requested?
Thank you!

Thanks so much, lmintzer! We are on the Pearl in April with our 15 year old and 13 year old, so I'm happy to hear that your kids had a good time. I appreciate the info!

Thank you for sharing your pictures! How did your kids like the ship?

There are a few sailings with "free extra guests" for our school district's spring break this year (the week after Easter): Escape, Getaway, Pearl, and Jade. There may be more, but those are the ones I remember.
Has anyone done the "Escape Room" during your cruise?

My teenagers were very excited to try the escape room on Royal, so we were disappointed to find out that you have to be an adult to participate. I can't remember if the age requirement is 18 or 21 -- sorry! Anyway, I wanted to give a heads-up in case anyone else has kids/teens who are interested.
