  1. I have submitted all the claim forms as required.  As everyone else seems to say I heard basically nothing until today.  I received a thick set of documents titled " to all holders of claims entitled to vote on the plan"

The mailing also included an "open letter from the creditors committee" which says the committee recommends rejecting the plan.

Also included was more legal papers "notice of hearing to consider the adequacy of the disclosure statement and confirmation of the second amended joint chapter 11 plan filed by the debtors and related voting and objection guidelines.

Finally, "joint ballot for voting to accept or reject the second amended joint chapter 11 plan ..."

I am not an attorney, and hope I don't have to hire one to get the deposit money back that I paid to American Queen Voyages.  We paid AQV $8,000 for deposits on a number of cruises, and the ballot that I received shows a "vote amt" of $1300.

Does anyone have any idea what to do with this package.  I would really rather not lose all of our deposits.

    Thanks for everyone's help,

    Randal Bruckner

  2. One answer to your question -  Why do you recommend to not use the Quebec City airport? - We live in Hawaii, and found that we were able to save about $400  per person on air fare by flying into and out of Montreal rather than Quebec.  Also, the scenery on the train ride is beautiful and the trains are wonderfully comfortable.  Only bad part is trying to get a taxi from the station in Quebec City to your hotel.  It might be worthwhile to try to reserve a hotel within walking distance of the station.

  3. Does anyone have any recent experience with the Hyatt Place hotel shuttle between the airport and hotel and back?  When I read hotel reviews on line for Ft Lauderdale almost all hotels seem to have terrible shuttle service.  I hope things are not as bad as people say.

  4. I thought I read somewhere that credit cards are not widely accepted in Bermuda.  We hope to spend an afternoon in Hamilton and the next morning at the Dockyard.  Will we be able to use our MsterCard or will we need US cash?

    Thanks for the help

  5. I just read an article on Cruise Critic about the changes in cruising, whenever things restart.  It sounds like Royal Caribbean is moving lots of functions to the cell phone, such as the daily newsletter, restaurant reservations, check in, boarding pass, room key card, etc.

Has anyone heard what they expect those of us that don't have cell phones to do?  Or is a cell phone going to be a requirement for cruising.

  6. We will be overnighting on the Vision OTS on October 10. We would like to see some of the sights outside of the city. Tours seem to be very limited as to where they go, and relatively expensive.

Does anyone have any experience with renting a car at this location? Where are the pick up and drop off locations?

    Any information is appreciated.

  7. We are planning on taking the Star Princess on Feb 17 on a 10 day Mexico cruise. It looks like the ship will dock at the new cruise pier. Does anyone have any ideas about hotels close to the pier? We have stayed at the Best Western Tuscan Inn previously, but wonder if anyone has any favorite places to stay that might be closer to the new pier.

    Thanks,

    Randy

  8. We will be in Laem Chabang, the port for Bangkok, on December 26 on Sapphire Princess. We are interested in spending the day at Nong Nooch Botanical Gardens. The shore excursion that is available only spends a short amount of time at the garden. Does anyone have any experience in getting to the garden and back on your own?

    Thanks for the help,

    Randy

  9. Hey, we are on that cruise :D

Yes we are on the roll call for the cruise. We did the cruise last year and enjoyed it so much that we are repeating this year. We will be happy to help out with any questions about Hawaii. Looking forward to meeting you on the cruise.

With all the help we have gotten about the Blue Mountains, we are pretty certain that we will do that trip for 3 days at the end of the cruise.

    Thanks to all who responded,

    Randy

  10. We will be arriving in Sydney on October 3,2014 on the Rhapsody of the Seas. We are thinking of taking the train and Explorer Bus combo package for 3 days in Katoomba. We are most interested in natural things, plants, hiking, geology, wildlife, etc. There apparently also is a garden festival in Leura from Oct 4-12.

With the festival and normal sights, are there enough things to see and do to take 3 days in this location?

Can anyone recommend a lodging in the area?

    Thanks for the info.

    Randy

  11. Thanks to all for your recommendations on Anchorage. I talked to the folks at Moose Gardens yesterday. They are wonderful people and their home is exactly what we were looking for. I booked our stay with them.

There are so many places from which to choose. It was sure nice to have some first hand info.

    Thanks again,

    Randy

  12. We are taking the Norwegian Jewel to Alaska on Sept 15, arriving in Vancouver on Sept 22. We then need to stay overnight and catch the Norwegian Pearl from Vancouver to L.A. on Sept 23.

We are looking for suggestions for hotels that are close to the cruise pier and not too terribly expensive for our overnight stay. I have heard of a place called Victorian Hotel, 514 Homer Street. It seems to be suspiciously cleap, at about $85-100 per night.

    Thanks for the help.
