I  doubt this will add up enough to really matter.  Earning 2 points for a survey is just nothing in the big picture of Cap't Club levels  (Less than 1 night in a verandah room).  Nevertheless, I also received it and completed the survey.  My DW did not receive it, however I just changed the defaulted CC # in the link to hers, completed the survey, hit submit and got the "thanks for completing" message so I'll assume if you follow the link below you can get to the page.

We didn't receive any emails either but thanks for posting the link. We were able to submit both surveys.

  2. We are booked on a Celebrity cruise in January 2020 but are considering booking another cruise while we are onboard. We have our eye on the Eclipse 14 night sailing from Singapore to Sydney on 24th November 2020.

Does anyone know the current onboard offers for this sailing? our UK based TA is currently offering AI drinks, gratuities and $200 stateroom credit for a balcony cabin and we wanted to compare. We have booked onboard previously in the past and received perks and an additional OBC as part of the process.

  3. Thank god. Their dishes might have been great in a TVs studio but on a cruise ship they were terrible.

Like you I dread the Top Chef nights. I'm afraid we had one on the recent Infinity 2nd April Panama Canal cruise. Our waiter said that his recommendation was to go with the timeless entree selection and skip the Top Chef entrees.

Also with regard to the menu that has Portobello mushroom as one of the entrees. My wife ordered this and she was give a single Portobello mushroom, no sides just a mushroom sitting lonely on a large plate. We couldn't believe it and know that we can always order extra sides but for that to be served as an entree was unbelievable. I would expect a dish like that as a starter.

This was the only night we had dessert :halo:

  4. I do recall hearing once that Tuscan was open for lunch. I couldn't tell you what day it was or if this was a one time or multi time thing. Sorry.

    Hi Jane

Your correct Tuscan did open for lunch one day as did Qsuine. There was a cover charge of $25 per person which was reduced to $20 when booked. Both deals were on sea days in the 2nd week but unsure of the exact days.

It was great meeting you and Bob. I hope the guys in the Gatun locks control room managed to see your luminous sign thanking them:D:D

  5. Hi lucyjlou,

If you have never used Uber before you can get a $10-$20 discount on your first ride if you use another user's referral code. When you ride, they also get the same credit.

I've not used Uber in Miami but have after a cruise from Ft. Lauderdale and in other towns like Paris and London. They are less expensive than taxis and quite reputable.

Should you need a referral code for the discount, you can use mine: 6y3g9

    Happy Cruising!

    Neal

    Should you not

    Hi Neal

We arrive on 31st March from the UK and have never used Uber before. I've downloaded the app, added my credit card details and also your referral code. Thanks for posting the info and now looking forward to spending a couple of days in Miami before our next cruise.

    Cheers

    John

  6. Some of the above will not be correct if the OP intends to book for a UK reservation onboard. Many times there is no smaller deposit option - it's the full £150pp non refundable deposit.

OP, I'd definitely check pricing and perks prior to boarding as some X future cruise reps are not so familiar with Royal bookings ;). Ask on the Royal board what you're likely to obtain from an onboard reservation (remember to quote in the post that it would be a UK booking, as this can make a difference), from others currently booking onboard and remember to have your balcony discount applied if you have the appropriate C&A status ;).

I called C&A and did ask about a balcony discount but was told that it is only onboard perks that transfer from Elite to Diamond. They said that I would need to sail on RCI and accrue my points that way for a balcony discount.

I tried asking the question on the RCI boards but I just got the answer that it would be the same perks as booking on RCI.

Not long till I find out for real:D and will have my UK agent on speed dial at our 1st port of call:D

  7. They no longer let you use your onboard credit on the current cruise. Too many people taking advantage and gaming the system... booking suites for future cruise for the higher obc to apply to the cruise they were on and then dropping to lower room after the fact.

I have only ever booked 2 cruises on board and not knowing the rules decided to keep the OBC to use on those cruises, which I'm glad I did anyway.

I had a similar experience except the other way round with a future booking with balcony, the deal was $200 OBC for my 13 night cruise which would have been $250 for a 14 night cruise. I cancelled the original 13 night cruise and transferred my booking to a 15 night cruise and Celebrity UK wouldn't adjust the OBC up to $250. The new booking was about £1200 per person dearer, not that I'm complaining I just thought it would adjust as per the original offered perk.

  8. This is not something we considered in the past but it makes sense to vary your dining options/locations. If we book a speciality restaurant it's never really done on a whim. I think by previewing the MDR menu during the day and if nothing jumps out at me I'd give this a try. Sitting outside on a nice warm evening sounds great and I wish we'd done this on our B2B last year instead of having a repeat menu.

  9. Firstly I am based in the UK so perks may be different from those offered to US passengers.

My question is, I am sailing with X on the Equinox next month and have been looking at a 7 day Middle East cruise on Vision of the Seas in January.

The prices in the UK are quite good for this but I'm unsure if I should book just now or wait and book on Equinox next month. Are there any perks being given to UK passengers at this time for a future booking with RCCL.

  10. I am sailing next month on the Equinox and I've been looking at a middle east cruise with Royal Caribbean in January. It is a 7 night cruise out of Dubai with no onboard perks on the UK website or with UK TA's.

Firstly would a RCCL cruise be offered at future cruises and secondly if so do they attract any onboard booking benefits.

  11. Maybe yes, maybe no. Many cruise lines have been canceling port calls to Turkey ports. Given the political situation in that country (DW and I really like Turkey on land and sea) even a crystal ball cannot predict the future. But in the event that Turkey would be canceled, it is likely it would be replaced by 1 or more Greek Ports....(part of the EU).

We were originally scheduled to depart Istanbul but Celebrity changed this a few weeks ago to Athens. We have had Crete added as a port of call. Hopefully the situation doesn't deteriorate not only for us but for the unfortunate locals caught up in this.

  12. Firstly I am from the UK and have a credit card that makes no charge for cash withdrawals worldwide. The benefit of this is I always get the bank exchange rate rather than the tourist rate when withdrawing foreign currency.

I have never used the ATM's on board and would like to know if there is a charge for cash withdrawal to get USD and also if the exchange rate is set by the provider (operating bank) or Celebrity.

  13. So looking forward to this cruise, we have been booked for quite a few months and at the time we felt it had a very interesting itinery as we cruised through Panama Canal in Nov 2016 with celebrity we thought it would be good to do suez too.

It's Great that you have got the cruise at a good price however it's very disappointing to have booked this cruise & paid top prices and now not even getting time to see Athens.

Whilst we appreciate the change in itinery has been done for all the right reasons we are still disappointed in not being able to have our shore visit to Athens one of the places we really wanted to see.

As yet we are still waiting on our new air travel times.

We are not new celebrity cruisers on the contrary we are loyal to the brand and celebrity havent even offered us any obc to compensate for the much reduced prices now being offered.

When we booked this cruise we booked a further 2 cruises for 2017 and not a penny of obc was offered I don't understand how some cruisers manage to get this.

You get nothing for loyalty it seems apart from captains club it seems with celebrity these days.

I don't think we will be booking so far in advance in the future

    Hard lesson learned.

Were your bookings made onboard? If so you could cancel without losing the deposit and just transfer it to another booking. We did this and rebooked our upcoming cruise through a US agent to take advantage of the price drop.

Like you we booked well in advance but one of our cruises next year (Panama Canal) has actually increased by 50% so we have scored on this one.

  14. I've bought OBC for 2 of my upcoming cruises.

The first booking is through a US agent and I bought OBC through the UK website and my credit card has been charged in the current exchange rate for USD.

My second booking is through a UK agent and I also bought OBC through the UK website and was charged £17.30 for each $25 credit.

I expected this and I'm happy with what I have, even though the first purchase was more expensive in GBP.

  15. Ok, so I booked cruise through a US TA but I bought the OBC gift through the UK site and was given a sterling price and completed the transaction. I've had a confirmation of the gift purchase saying the price is $450 (I purchased 19 X $25). I would have expected the receipt to be billed in £. I've emailed to check what currency I've been charged in, as if it's $ I'd like a refund as no benefit to me doing.

Can anyone who has booked their cruise in the UK and then bought OBC confirm what the billing looked like on their receipt?

Like you I booked my cruise through a US agent and then bought additional credit on the UK site on 24th June. My credit card statement once I convert it back to USD works out that I have been charged £18.16 per $25 credit. This was probably the exchange rate at that time with £1 = $1.376.

I have another cruise booked for next April but that is through my UK agent, I will probably buy additional for that as well to take advantage of the $1.44 conversion rate that £17.30 gives me.

  16. Yes! We are affected and we booked almost a year ago. Going to cost us at least $1000 to change our flights and Celebrity is only offering $250! And it is not like we could have booked through Choice Air as it isn't available from Australia. Our travel insurance is unlikely to be of any comfort either. Not happy. Still I would rather be out of pocket than disembarking in Istanbul. I just wish they had taken this decision a long time ago. It has caused a lot of people a lot of angst.

Not knowing your flight dates but can you not just continue your journey by booking a flight from Istanbul to Athens if time allows. Or if you have a flight change en route book a flight from your flight change airport to Athens. I hope you can get something organised that won't be over expensive, your agent may have some ideas.

  17. I have been checking the coop culture website every day to find out when the 3rd ring tours will go on sale for September and the next 3 month batch is being released on 19th June. The tour price is 9 euros.

From Sunday, 19 June it is possible to book the Underground of Colosseum for July, August and September 2016.

You will also need to buy a colosseum entrance ticket, these are 12 euros.

    http://www.coopculture.it/en/ticket....&id=0&evento=6

    http://etickets.coopculture.it/index...0-CE0B6183CEFB

Information and booking Service will be open from 9am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm.

It is possible to book on line guided tours for individuals from 9am of Sunday, 19th of June

The entrance for groups can be reserved only by call center.

Please note that the terms and conditions of sale, access and visit of the Underground of the Coliseum, shared with the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Rome, are solely those notified directly by the Concessionaire and published on the site http://www.coopculture.it.

Please note the procedures for reservations shared with the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Rome:

prepayment by credit card required at booking

rates entrance for groups (max 50 pax) is € 50.00

each customer can reserve only one (1) slot of maximum 25 places per day

each customer can reserve maximum 6 places in the same individual guided tour

each customer can make only one reservation per call

any additional pre-sold ticket, although accepted and prepaid, will be canceled and will be refunded

it will be possible to book the Underground each three months. Reservation Service will be open 15 days before the three month period

the group slop of 10am and 2.40pm can be booked only by tourist guides

I would think that the tour operators will be trying to snap them up so that they can inflate the price and then sell on to tourists as part of their tours.

Good luck to anyone who is successful and set your alarms to try and get in first.

Just a reminder the 3rd ring tour tickets went on sale today for July, August and September and are going fast.

  18. I got mine from Amazon.co.uk. Search for cruise luggage tags holder. I can't tell if you are in the UK or not. Make certain you get the ones for the correct cruise line. They are not flimsy.
